About this experience
The Montenegro coast is full of tiny, colourful places, that tell a historic story. Among them is the City of Kotor, one of the most beautiful and the most mysterious. On the way to the City of Kotor, while driving along the coast, pieces of history gradually open and invite us to indulge ourselves into carefree exploring. The exploring gets especially interesting, when we take a stop in the City of Perast, a city that is protected – considered as city-museum -, and decide to take a trip to two artificially created islands, the islands of St. Jurij and The lady od Škrpjel. The tiny city and the islands combined open up a range of the past – from the Neolithic to the Illyrians, the Venetian Republic to Napoleon… The Venetian buildings take over Kotor, which lies between an impressive landscape – on the side it is embraced by the so-called rias, a submerged canyon. Not to mention the local cuisine!

Absolutely WOW – a perfect day in Montenegro!
We booked a private day trip to Montenegro with Deep Green Travel and, quite honestly, everything was perfect from the first contact until our return. We had contacted them by email during our stay and were immediately given very good advice. Since we were traveling in the middle of high season, they recommended a 6 a.m. departure to avoid waiting at the border as much as possible. We absolutely had the option to leave later if we wanted to, but we decided to follow their advice. And we really did the right thing! Crossing the border was extremely smooth, and we arrived early enough to discover Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks before the crowds arrived. Being able to enjoy these magnificent places while they were still relatively quiet really made the experience even more pleasant. Our guide, Daf, was simply perfect. Very friendly, professional, and interesting, he gave us information both during the drives and once we were there. We learned a huge amount about Montenegro, its history, its culture, and the places we were passing through, without ever feeling like we were attending a history class! Everything was natural and pleasant. We then continued on to Kotor, where we spent about three hours. Once again, it was perfectly organized: enough time to visit the city at a leisurely pace, walk around, discover the small streets, and enjoy the place without feeling like we had to constantly check our watches. Another point that we really appreciated: the driving. We felt perfectly safe throughout the day, which is particularly appreciated when you spend several hours on the road. And on the return, the same pleasant surprise as on the way there: border crossing again very smooth, despite the high season. This day was one of the true highlights of our vacation. Everything was perfectly organized, stress-free, with an excellent balance between the guide's explanations and time to discover the places on our own. A huge thank you to Daf and Deep Green Travel for this magnificent day and for their excellent advice from our very first exchanges. If you are in the Dubrovnik region and wish to discover Montenegro, we recommend this excursion without the slightest hesitation. Absolutely WOW from start to finish!

Terrible company, book with another!
This was a very poorly organized trip with quite a few 'catastrophe'. The driver of the coach was excellent. People here drive like maniacs. The coach was not the cleanest. We wasted a lot of time waiting on others to join or meet the coach. The tour guide was Spanish. Her command & comprehension of English was weak. I don't speak Spanglish. She was disruptive & connected with the 6 Spanish speakers on the tour. The rest of us were trying to decipher her bad English. On the return the bus left us in the middle of nowhere even though we were promised a return of where we had been picked up.

Great trip in Kotor
It was a great trip that we booked with Ivana. I think an extra free time in Kotor would be perfect.

Where sky meets the sea
You have to see it, to believe it. Montenegro mountains will leave you mesmerised and you will need to pinch yourself to see if what you are seeing is real. Be ready to suprise yourself how involved and historically important Montenegro is, and see the evidence as you go. A real journey trough time and space.
Response from the operator: Dear Adam, thank you very much for your review and choosing us to be a part of your vacation!

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full Day Private Tour in Montenegro Coast: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dubrovnik.
How much does Full Day Private Tour in Montenegro Coast cost?
+
Prices start at $308 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dubrovnik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full Day Private Tour in Montenegro Coast take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dubrovnik is not rushed.
Is Full Day Private Tour in Montenegro Coast worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dubrovnik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day Private Tour in Montenegro Coast?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full Day Private Tour in Montenegro Coast suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full Day Private Tour in Montenegro Coast?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dubrovnik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dubrovnik and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full Day Private Tour in Montenegro Coast start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dubrovnik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dubrovnik?
+
On Outty we rank every Dubrovnik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dubrovnik: Game of Thrones Walking Tour, Panorama Zipline Experience in Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik: 7 Caves & Blue Cave Speedboat Tour (4h). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dubrovnik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dubrovnik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
