What you get

    About this experience

The Valley of Medicinal Waters has a well-earned reputation for its salt hill, created and shaped to this very day by the medicinal waters bubbling up from the depths of the earth. There are only two other locations in the entire world with comparable natural phenomena: Pamukkale in Turkey, and Yellowstone National Park in the US. In other words, as long as you’re in Hungary, it would be a great pity to let this opportunity go by. The 1,200-square-metre salt hill – created by the thermal water rising to the surface from a depth of 410 meters with a temperature of 65‑68 degrees Celsius – can be seen from up close, right next to the path starting from the parking lot of the Nostalgia Baths. As for those who want to bathe, the Saliris Resort Medicinal and Wellness Spa welcomes them with open arms. The spa pools have a direct line of sight onto the salt hill. The water contains 30 different trace minerals, its most important components being calcium, sodium, magnesium and sulfur.

10 out of 10 would recommend

I cannot recommend this activity more. I was a little skeptical due to the low ratings but this was well worth it! We rode with Peter who had so much knowledge on the local villages we passed on the way to Eger. I didn’t realize the town was basically the Hungarian Nappa Valley, a must see on our return visit. Peter was so kind and helpful. I would note, it may be helpful to have the Whats App to communicate before the host comes, it makes it easier to find out at the pickup location. And yes, bring towels or a bathrobe. The castle was lovely. This is a walking tour as well so dress accordingly. We loved our experienced in Eger!!

Excellent Tour Guide and a Fun Destination

Richard was an outstanding guide. His English is excellent. The vehicle is clean and roomy and comfortable. He gave us great tips on things to see and do in Budapest and then a nice little tour of Eger. The spa was relaxing and a fun thing to see and do outside the hustle and bustle of Budapest. Highly recommended!

    Eger Bathes & Castle

Our tour guide, Richard, was always courteous, knowledgeable, and very friendly. We enjoyed the entire trip.

    Unique experience

Eger was interesting and quaint but the baths were the icing on the cake for us. Could’ve spent all day there. Bring a towel, flip flops and try the different pools.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for exploring Hungary with us! :)

    Not worth a whole day

The resort/hot springs was nice but two hours is not enough time to enjoy the baths, check out the salt pools and have lunch. Also you don’t really get to see Eger just walk through it to get to the small castle area which was under renovation.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for exploring Hungary with us!

Full-Day Private Tour in Eger with Thermal Bath in Egerszalók: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Budapest.

How much does Full-Day Private Tour in Eger with Thermal Bath in Egerszalók cost?

    +

Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Budapest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Private Tour in Eger with Thermal Bath in Egerszalók take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Budapest is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Private Tour in Eger with Thermal Bath in Egerszalók worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Budapest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Private Tour in Eger with Thermal Bath in Egerszalók?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full-Day Private Tour in Eger with Thermal Bath in Egerszalók suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Private Tour in Eger with Thermal Bath in Egerszalók?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Budapest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Budapest and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Private Tour in Eger with Thermal Bath in Egerszalók start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Budapest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Budapest?

    +

On Outty we rank every Budapest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Budapest City Landmarks Walking Tour in 2 Hours, Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup, Budapest free walking tour: Parliament and Shoes Memorial. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Budapest?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Budapest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
