The best day of our trip!
We met Jim at the port bright and early to make the most of our day. He had cold water for us, and we told him our priorities and wish list if we had time. We stopped by the Piraeus sign, went to the coffee shop for a cold cappuccino to wake ourselves up, and then went to the Acropolis Museum before heading to the Acropolis and Parthenon. Panathenaic Stadium (first modern Olympic Games in 1896). We opted not to go to the Panathenaic Stadium since we could see it from the Acropolis. We happened upon the changing of the guards at the Parliament. We went to Five Friends Restaurant, a truly family restaurant that serves food made in the homes of the Greeks. It was such an incredible synchronicity that we had five people and made a new friend in Dimitris. We drove past Monastiraki Square, a flea market, and went to the Plaka neighborhood—one of the oldest, with cobblestone streets, taverns, and cafes. We bought more than we needed. A friend left her card in the ATM, and miraculously, it was still there 45 minutes later. Jim ran all the way with her to retrieve her card. We said goodbye to our driver at the port and returned to the ship with time to spare. We returned to the boat. Excited from our day, learning about Greece, both ancient and modern. Jim is competent, knowledgeable, and was great to have as our guide for the day. We had a fantastic time, great food, and made a new friend. We all want to return and learn more from Jim.

Tour Athens
Well as we got started our tour was different from what we are accustomed. We thought we were getting a private tour guide who would be with us every step. What we have is a private driver who takes you around Athens pointing out sights and dropping you off to visit where you want. Very flexible. I think we saw the highlights and visited a couple of sights and museums. I would say if you choose this ask what you can do in advance to be ready to hit the ground running as no tickets are included in the price. I would suggest if you have agreed where you are visiting to pre purchase the tickets. For instance our first stop was The Acropolis. The ticket line and line to get in were ridiculous. Took over two hours in the scorching heat and once inside the crowd was dense climbing the hill to the top. I would buy a skip the line ticket or hire a guide who takes you right in. Museums aren’t that bad but pre purchasing your tickets saves time.

Fantastic Athens Tour with Cruise Ship Pick-up
Enjoyed full day Athens Tour with Piraeus pick-up. Guide/driver Jim(Dimitris) was on-time, informative and responded to our needs. We made adjustments to meet our groups needs and a Sunday schedule. Toured all the major Athens site. Overall, great value and fantastic alternative to other available options for single day excursion visit.

Great Guide Andrew. We would defiantly be repeat customers!
Excellent from Start to Finish! Our Driver/Guide was Andrew. When we decided to change our schedule and at the last minute he could not have been more accommodating. Athens is a crazy city to drive in and Andrew was a very careful driver and knew his city like the back of his hand. He had a book of photos to shows and shared lots of wonderful information. He took us very close to all the sites and in places where he could not park he was never more than five minutes away! He was very attentive to my mother who is 78 and not very mobile and we would highly recommend Enjoy Greece tours and our guide Andrew!

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full Day Private Athens Sightseeing: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Full Day Private Athens Sightseeing cost?
+
Prices start at $533 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full Day Private Athens Sightseeing take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Full Day Private Athens Sightseeing worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day Private Athens Sightseeing?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full Day Private Athens Sightseeing suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full Day Private Athens Sightseeing?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full Day Private Athens Sightseeing start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
