A very efficient transport experience, a historical site. very enjoyable stroll and cruise. Overall a pleasant day outing. Would benefit if a picnic package could be sold with Tasmania food products

Exceptional day.
Extremely well organised. Was kept well informed leading up, and on the day. Bus driver so nice and knowledgeable. Pt Arthur, all brilliant, I am a little restricted with my hip, well we were treated like royalty, apparently not busy, thus they could do this. For 6 1/2 hrs we were dropped off, picked up, educated by Mick, the driver. He knew absolutely everything, was an amazing, learning experience, thanks to Mick. Thanks to the tour organisers. Recommend. You betcha!!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review, Peter! We're delighted to hear you had such an exceptional day. It's fantastic to know Mick's knowledge, care and commentary helped make your visit to the Port Arthur Historic Site so memorable. We're also pleased our team kept you well informed throughout your journey. Thank you for your recommendation—we hope to welcome you back on another adventure soon! Cheers Melinda

Tour too long.
The day was very, very long. Started at 7:45am, finished at 6:45pm. This tour catered mainly for people who wanted to hike in Tasman National Park, as Port Arthur is a drop off and pick up point. We spent 5 hours walking around the site and going on a brief harbour cruise, we then had to sit and wait 1 and a half hours till 4:30 for the bus. For people like myself, who only want to visit Port Arthur this tour probably isn’t for you.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback, Kathryn. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed visiting the Port Arthur Historic Site, but we appreciate your comments regarding the length of the day. This tour is designed to provide guests with ample time to explore the Port Arthur Historic Site at their own pace, while also accommodating those participating in alternative afternoon experiences within the Tasman region. We understand that individual preferences vary, and for guests primarily interested in Port Arthur, the amount of free time may feel longer than expected. We appreciate you sharing your experience, as it helps future travellers choose the option that best suits their interests and expectations. Thank you for travelling with us. Cheers Melinda

An interesting tour in a beautiful setting.
Informative and interesting commentary on the bus. Our bus driver, Murray was friendly and very helpful. It was a long but very enjoyable day at the site with excellent talks by the guides. The cafe served good food and catered well for those with dietary requirements.Such a beautiful location.
Response from the operator: Dear Alice Thank you for your lovely review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the informative commentary and that Murray helped make the journey comfortable and enjoyable. It’s wonderful to know you found Port Arthur both interesting and beautiful, and that the guides and café added to the experience. Thanks again for travelling with us — we’re so glad you had such an enjoyable day! 😊 Cheers Melinda

Full-Day Port Arthur Historic Site Tour and Admission Ticket: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hobart.
How much does Full-Day Port Arthur Historic Site Tour and Admission Ticket cost?
+
Prices start at $88 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hobart usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full-Day Port Arthur Historic Site Tour and Admission Ticket take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hobart is not rushed.
Is Full-Day Port Arthur Historic Site Tour and Admission Ticket worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 95 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hobart, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Port Arthur Historic Site Tour and Admission Ticket?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full-Day Port Arthur Historic Site Tour and Admission Ticket suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full-Day Port Arthur Historic Site Tour and Admission Ticket?
+
Around 33 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hobart can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hobart and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full-Day Port Arthur Historic Site Tour and Admission Ticket start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hobart within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hobart?
+
On Outty we rank every Hobart experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus- Return Tour (2.5 hours), Full-Day Guided Bruny Island Tour from Hobart, Maria Island Cruise and Guided Walk Day Tour with Lunch and Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hobart?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hobart?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
