    About this experience

Spend this action and value-packed day exploring the 3 top wine regions of Paarl, Franschhoek, and Stellenbosch. Stellenbosch Wine region After leaving Cape Town we head into Stellenbosch, also known as the “City of Oaks”, it has giant oak trees shading the streets, which are lined with picturesque cafes, boutiques, and art galleries. Our guide will take you on a walking tour of the historic town before we head over the Hellshoogte Mountain Pass as we make our way to Franschhoek. We have our first wine tasting at Delaire Graaf. Franschhoek Wine region The Franschhoek valley is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful places to visit in South Africa. With towering mountains and vineyards, Franschhoek offers stunning views from its famous wine farms. Franschhoek, meaning “French corner”, truly lives up to its name, with French-inspired cafes, delis and wine shops, and architecture dating back to the time of the Huguenots.

    Winery tour

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable South African Experience! We had the absolute pleasure of spending the day on an organised winery tour in South Africa with our guid Saifu and it exceeded every expectation thanks to our incredible guide. From the very start, he was warm, friendly, and exceptionally knowledgeable. His passion for the region, its history, and its wines truly brought the experience to life. Every vineyard visit felt personal and thoughtfully planned, and he even saved us the best seating area with the most magnificent views — something we would never have managed on our own! He turned a wonderful winery tour into a powerful and unforgettable cultural experience. Throughout the entire day, we felt completely safe, comfortable, and genuinely at home. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made all the difference. If you're looking for a guide in South Africa who goes above and beyond, look no further. We couldn’t recommend him more highly — truly a five-star experience from start to finish. Thanks Saifu ❤️

    Excellent tour! Highly recommended

This Stellenbosch and Franschhoek wine tasting tour was hands down one of the highlights of our trip, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible guide, Seifu. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, relaxed, and genuinely fun. Seifu is extremely knowledgeable about South African wines, the history of the region, and the local culture, but what really sets him apart is his warm personality and passion for what he does. He made every stop feel special, shared fascinating stories along the way, and ensured everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of. The wineries were beautifully selected, offering a great variety of wines and stunning views, and the pacing of the day was just right—never rushed, never boring. Seifu went above and beyond to tailor the experience and made sure we got the most out of each tasting. If you’re considering a wine tour in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, do yourself a favor and book with Seifu. You’ll leave with amazing memories, a deeper appreciation for South African wine, and probably a few bottles you couldn’t resist bringing home!

Full Day Paarl Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Private Wine Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.

How much does Full Day Paarl Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Private Wine Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $253 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full Day Paarl Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Private Wine Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.

Is Full Day Paarl Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Private Wine Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day Paarl Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Private Wine Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full Day Paarl Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Private Wine Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full Day Paarl Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Private Wine Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full Day Paarl Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Private Wine Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cape Town?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape Town: Lion's Head Sunrise/Sunset Hike, Ocean Wildlife Encounter in Cape Town, Private Full Day Stellenbosch Wine Tour with Pick Up and Drop Off. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cape Town?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cape Town?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
