    Overcrowded Nusa Penida

I do not recommend this excursion. You have to transfer for a long time, wait, and get herded around like cattle. The guide on the boat was very nice. Because it is so touristy, the snorkeling bays are packed, there are also many ships there that let their exhaust fumes out completely, and with so many ships and the strong waves, I was afraid of getting under a ship. What you see underwater is beautiful, but relaxed snorkeling is something else! After that, we went on extremely bumpy roads (very poor condition) to the viewpoint, which is beautiful, but veeeery overcrowded. So never again! It should be noted that all the guides were very friendly.

Response from the operator: Hi Mrs Claudia Gschwind Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of your experience. You should know that Nusa Penida is an island separated from Bali, and to get there from Bali, you need to use a car pickup from the hotel and stop at the harbor to cross to Nusa Penida using a fast boat for about less than an hour. After arriving, you need to head to the snorkeling point and switch to a small boat to reach the snorkeling spots determined in the itinerary, which are Gamat Bay and Manta Bay. After snorkeling, you need to get back in the vehicle for a tour of West Penida, which includes Kelingking and Broken Beach. After the tour in Penida, return to the harbor, take the fast boat back to Bali, and then take a vehicle to your hotel in Jimbaran. So, there will be a lot of transportation used for this snorkeling tour activity. For safe snorkeling locations, there is already an agreement between the local government, village associations, and the organizers of these snorkeling activities, which are permitted and allowed in Gamat Bay and Manta Bay. The boat routes and other activities have also been determined by the authorities, and it should be noted that the sea waves on Nusa Penida Island are quite significant compared to snorkeling in Tulamben, Blue Lagoon, or Nusa Dua. The third explanation is that Bali Island often experiences traffic jams due to the large number of tourist visits from various countries. Especially for those who are visiting Bali for the first time and want to visit and stay a few nites on Nusa Penida Island. Of course, this small island will be crowded at every point of its destinations. The limitation on visits to an island or tourist destination is beyond the authority of tour operators. I hope these three explanations can help and be beneficial for everyone. Our suggestion for beginners who want to dive or snorkel is to go to Nusa Dua, which are close to Jimbaran or Tulamben. And for those who want enjoy the beach, the scorching heat, and cliff beach views, you can visit Nusa Penida, but it is not recommended for children. Regard Adie

Full-Day Nusa Penida Snorkeling Adventure from Bali: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jimbaran.

How much does Full-Day Nusa Penida Snorkeling Adventure from Bali cost?

    +

Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jimbaran usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Nusa Penida Snorkeling Adventure from Bali take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Jimbaran is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Nusa Penida Snorkeling Adventure from Bali worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Jimbaran, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Nusa Penida Snorkeling Adventure from Bali?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full-Day Nusa Penida Snorkeling Adventure from Bali suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Nusa Penida Snorkeling Adventure from Bali?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jimbaran can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jimbaran and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Nusa Penida Snorkeling Adventure from Bali start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jimbaran within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Jimbaran?

    +

On Outty we rank every Jimbaran experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Discover The Best of Ubud: All-Inclusive and Private Guided Tour, Ubud: Monkey Forest, Jungle Swing, Rice Terrace and Water Temple, Best of Ubud Private and All-Inclusive 1-Day Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Jimbaran?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Jimbaran?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
