The Meteora! An experience of lifetime!
We had the most wonderful experience visiting Meteora. The breathtaking views and the feeling of seeing the monasteries perched high atop the towering rock formations are truly impossible to describe. It is an extraordinary destination unlike anywhere else in the world. Andreas took exceptional care of us, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy every moment. He captured beautiful photos for us and shared his extensive knowledge of Meteora's rich history, making the experience even more meaningful. Thank you, Ted, and your entire team, for such a memorable and unforgettable day. We will cherish this experience for years to come!
Response from the operator: Your kind words and appreciation is our fuel for moving forward and providing even more incredible experiences! It was my absolute pleasure meeting you and your lovely family and really looking forward to seeing you again soon and discover more of this amazing place that we have the shared privilege to call home.

Unforgettable time! Book Ted!
We were two couples visiting Greece from the US, and hiring Ted as our guide was hands-down one of the best decisions of our trip. We first booked Ted for a private city tour of Athens. He was so outstanding that we immediately booked him again for a full-day private tour of the monasteries in Meteora, and then arranged for him to take us to the airport on our departure day as well! Our full-day tour exploring the monasteries of Meteora was unforgettable. Ted’s knowledge of Greek history, culture, and even world history is incredibly impressive. He explained everything in a way that was engaging, detailed, and easy to understand. His English is impeccable, which made the experience even more enjoyable and seamless for us. Beyond his expertise, Ted is simply a wonderful person, friendly, accommodating, professional, and genuinely warm. We were traveling with our 1-year-old daughter, and he was amazing with her. He was patient, thoughtful, and always made sure we were comfortable throughout long touring days. If you are visiting Greece and want a guide who is knowledgeable, reliable, and truly cares about your experience, book Ted. We gave him 5 stars, but honestly, we would give him 10 if we could! Highly, highly recommend
Response from the operator: I feel honored to receive a review like that! You know I enjoyed spending time time with you all. I always have a special burden on my shoulders when I have a "superstar" baby on board and seeing her smile at me was a real relief! Thanks again for everything and I am looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Outstanding Private Tour and Guide
We had an absolutely fantastic private tour to Meteora with Ted of Athens Experiences. Due to an unexpected change of plans during our trip, we made a last-minute request for a tour to Meteora. We were grateful Ted was able to fit us into his schedule (literally overnight) -- and for his swift responses and excellent communication. He is professional, knowledgeable and fun! His van is pristine and comfortable. We were especially appreciative of Ted's accommodation and kindness in assisting my older son, who sprained his ankle earlier on our trip. This was the first time we booked tour services and drivers for an international trip, and I was a little nervous about how it would all go. Thankfully, we lucked out and met Ted! Not only did he take us to Meteora, but drove us to other locations (including a 3 am drop off at the airport), offering colorful commentary and entertaining retellings of relevant history to the places we traveled. And he even had outstanding restaurant recommendations, which resulted in us having a special meal at a Michelin star restaurant on our last night in Greece. My two sons (ages 17 and 19) and I couldn't have had a better trip to Greece -- and Ted was an important part in making our experience so awesome. Highly recommend Ted and Athens Experiences!
Response from the operator: I just read you review and I have to say I can't be grateful enough for it. Believe it or not this kind of appreciation from people is what keeps me going the extra mile everyday!!! It was my absolute pleasure meeting you and your family and I really hope to see you again soon. Best regards, Ted Velmachos

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full day Meteora private tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Full day Meteora private tour cost?
+
Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full day Meteora private tour take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Full day Meteora private tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full day Meteora private tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full day Meteora private tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full day Meteora private tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full day Meteora private tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
