May have been a little too long given the limitations of Capri

A very good trip to Capri from Piano Sorrento. Quick journey times with lots of free time to explore Capri. At the end there was a wonderful, if not a little chilly, trip round thr island. Do bring a jumper. Marco the guide was very good and gave us lots of information about the island. The only thing I would say is that its way cheaper to use the public buses than the hop on and off and they were not busy at all. However we did go in April so Summer may be a different story. I would recommend the trip for the time tou have on the island.

    Lovely day out in Capri

Benedetta gave us a lovely boat tour around the island, she was helpful, charismatic and informative. Everything happened as planned during our day out to Capri. We arrived in capri around 8:45 and had almost 5 hours to explore, than the boat took us around the island for a tour by the sea, and 3:15 pm we got back on the boat to Sorrento. It was worth while as a day trip, we could have had more time to explore, as 3:15 felt a bit early to leave. The prices in the island are quite high, so expect to pay 7 euros for a small beer in Capri.

Response from the operator: Hi Jessica, thank you so much for your feedback, i hope to see you soon for others tours with us! Kind regards, Maddalena.

It was hard to find space...

It was hard to find space at the public beach. Not easy to change clothes. Very hot in July. Ticket cost 124 euro a person but there was no free drinking water.

Total waste of time very unorganized - herded like cattle.

I should have known better but the pictures all seemed good. First of all, visiting Capri is a tourist nightmare, imagine 10-15,000 people per day all clogged into one monopoly bus ride up a hill and the back down the hill. The people who work for the tours do not care about customer service because they do not need to worry about it because the uneducated keep coming. Avoid this island like the plague. If you want to enjoy it book an expensive hotel stay on the island with private transport and avoid the tourist fiasco. On the island Boat tour, you could not even see the Blue Grotto because only little row boats can get in there so that also was a waste of time. There are row boats available to take you in for a fee but a large boat like the one for the tour could not stop and wait for people to do this. Specifically for our tour they wasted 2-3 hours of what free time we could have had by missing our appointed tours. We arrived 5 minutes late to the island on their boat and they said we missed our boat tour after we waited another 30-45 minutes. then after another hour of waiting they said we can go on the island tour know which is basically a bus up the hill and then back down in an hour or two. It was so unorganized that we wasted 2-4 hours of time.

    Avoid

Avoid this tour! I am so sorry because the two hostesses are very nice, but I am afraid they need to understand the tour business a little better. Today we chose another tour company (Iamme) for our tour of the Amalfi coast…our experience was night and day! The bright spot was Gus, our guide on Capri. Otherwise, use Iamme until HP learns the business a little more

Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sorrento and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sorrento?

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sorrento?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
