Memorable day of food indulgence in Delhi
Spent a wonderful day with Chef Aditya touring Old and New Delhi with amazing street food. By the end of the day we were stuffed beyond belief but it was worth it. So much care has gone in to finding great food stops that are also safe for tourist stomachs, we had no problems at all. We are always interested to try new food and learn about cuisines, and this tour delivered.... an education that will go to good use back home. I only wish we could have spread it out over a few days since I fear that after wonderful food item #10 or 15, we were past really appreciating each new delight. Kudos to Aditya and the FTD folks who put this tour together!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a memorable day exploring Old and New Delhi with Chef Aditya. It’s great to know that you enjoyed the variety of street food and felt comfortable with the care we take in selecting food stops that are both authentic and safe for our guests. Food in Delhi can indeed be an endless adventure, and we love introducing curious travelers like you to the stories and flavors behind each dish. Your idea of spreading it over a few days actually sounds like a great plan—Delhi certainly has enough food for that! We truly appreciate your kind words for Chef Aditya and the entire team at Food Tour in Delhi. We hope the culinary lessons and flavors you discovered here inspire many delicious experiments back home. Looking forward to hosting you again on another food adventure! 🍽️✨

Delicious day in Delhi
Brilliant. This tour was an excellent way to see and learn about Delhi while tasting a wide selection of delicious food, most of which I'd never tried before. Our guide Aditya was informative, funny and a delight to spend the day with. I'll admit I was nervous about the risk of stomach issues trying so many foods, but the only problem we hit was trying to pace ourselves and not get too full! We also did the Food Tour in Delhi Cooking Class with Chef - the combination was perfect and it's obvious how passionate Rajeev and Shikha are about sharing the many wonders of Indian food and culture.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed exploring Delhi’s culinary scene with Aditya and found the experience both fun and informative. It’s great to know that your only challenge was pacing yourself through all the delicious food! We’re also thrilled that you enjoyed the combination of the food tour and the cooking class—it truly offers a deeper connection to Indian culture and flavors. Rajeev and Shikha are indeed passionate about sharing the wonders of Indian food, and we’re so glad you felt that energy. Looking forward to welcoming you again for more culinary adventures!

You'll Absolutely LOVE this tour - GO HUNGRY!!!
Thanks to the Coronavirus, our flights home via China from South East Asia were cancelled. Therefore, we looked at an alternative route that didn't cost a fortune. The best price was via Delhi but we only had one day there (such a shame because we loved it!). Being great lovers of Indian food but never actually having been to India, there was only one thing that we wanted to do - as big a food tour as we could possibly manage! We did a lot of research because with a long flight the day after, we did not want to be hit with upset stomachs for the long journey so a very thorough search brought us to Food Tour In Delhi. The reviews were extremely positive and no-one had any issues so we contacted them hoping that they had last minute availability. They were extremely responsive and we had booked our full day food tour of Old Delhi and New Delhi very quickly. We also enquired about toilet availability as it was a very long day and we were quickly reassured that our guide would be able to assist in finding suitable conveniences at any time during our day out. When the day came we were really excited. We were told to stay in our hotel room so that the driver who collected us would be able to call our room and let us know that he was there. Being polite British people, we thought we would save him the trouble and wait in reception. Wrong! Because our driver was not the guide, he did not have a Food Tour In Delhi uniform and we missed each other in the Lobby. We would recommend that you do what the email instructions say and stay in your room until you get the call. Luckily, this didn't delay us too much and we were soon en-route to collect our guide, Aditya, close by. The car stayed with us the entire day and was ready for us whenever our guide called on it so we had almost no waiting time. We were the only two people on the tour. We were both given a bag with a bottle of water, hand sanitiser and tissues all of which were very welcome throughout the day. Extras to bring would be something to cover up for the temple visit and your passports for security at the Presidential Palace. Aditya was a very enthusiastic, confident and knowledgeable chap with outstanding English. Our driver expertly drove us through the Delhi traffic to Old Delhi where our tour was to start. Having arrived in India in the very early hours, by 11am we were thrust into the biggest culture shock we have ever experienced! We had been on a 7 week tour of South East Asia going to Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. We had seen a lot of fantastic things and experienced very different cultures but absolutely NOTHING prepared us for Old Delhi - it was absolutely insane in the best way possible!!! It was a full-on brutal assault on every sense and we could not get the smiles off our faces! Aditya expertly and confidently guided us through the streets and all the way he was explaining the history of Delhi and telling us about Indian life. No question went unanswered and he was very frank and informative. Although the tour was about the food, we really felt like we had two tours in one because we got so much information about the city and the culture all the way through the day, it felt like a city tour too! We had over 20 dishes throughout the day in so many different and interesting places. Food Tour In Delhi had carefully selected the places that we ate for their quality, hygiene, being environmentally friendly and having an interesting story. We ate at places that were incredibly popular with locals and also that had been established for a very long time - generations of families had run them! I won't spoil the surprises by describing the food - rest assured that you will get the best introduction into Indian cuisine imaginable and even if you think you know Indian food, get ready for some amazingly pleasant surprises. We skipped breakfast and were still pushing ourselves by the end of the day - there is a huge amount of amazing food. I can't stress enough that to get the most out of this day, you need to go hungry and pace yourselves - you don't have to finish every dish and sometimes, we asked our guide to just get us one portion to share as were getting really full. Having said that, the best thing about the tour is that Aditya paced it perfectly with each area we ate at being interspersed with walks, a rickshaw ride, tuk-tuk ride and visits to places like the Spice Market and a huge Sikh Temple where the kitchens serve over 10,000 meals per day for free! It is timed to perfection to give you the best food experience and not just bombard you with dishes so you get too full in one particular area. I can only say, if you are in Delhi and you are interested in doing a food tour - book the full day Old Delhi and New Delhi food tour - your taste buds and other senses will thank you for it!!!
Response from the operator: Namaste Kemp, Thank you for much for such detailed review, WE ARE MOTIVATED! Your review is a true example of how true foodies find us, it not about the numbers but the quality of reviews that matter, you have helped us prove it again. Thank you again, we will look forward to seeing you again on your planned India trip. Till then, keep eating! Cheers, Team - Food Tour In Delhi

Excellent! The best introduction to Indian food.
I did the all day food tour the day I arrived in India and there wouldn’t have been a better way to immerse myself in the culture and food. I’ve now been in India for more than a month and tried different lassis all over India and the best one was the first lassi I had on that tour. Taste sensation. Thanks so much Aditya.
Response from the operator: Namaste Lady, It was our pleasure to have you on a food tour and show you around. We are happy to know that we got a chance to introduce you to the best lassi in Delhi, India. Your review is much appreciated. Thanks Team - Food Tour in Delhi

Amazing Food Tour in Delhi - Part 2
I promise you, if you haven't done this tour, you haven't really experienced Delhi! It's been 6 years since my first food tour with Rajeev and his company, Food Tour in Delhi, and this time was just as exceptional and memorable, as the first. My mother (born and raised in New Delhi) and I had the pleasure of being hosted by Chef Rajeev's wife and company co-founder, Shikha. Shikha was not only a pleasure to spend much of our day with, but also a treasure trove of food and cultural knowledge. She did an amazing job of keeping our palettes stimulated and yearning for more. During the tour, we visited so many unique places, some of which even many Delhiites, have yet to discover. Shikha was also terrific at customizing on-the-fly and taking breaks, if we requested such. We visited so many wonderful nooks and crannies in Old Delhi, with each stop offering a tasty and delightful surprise, before moving on to some excellent spots in New Delhi. The tour is eat until you drop with unlimited amounts of food. Almost a month later and my mother is still talking about this tour! They do a great job of reminding you to control yourself so you make it to the end of the day before you throw in the towel. They also provided a great driver, who picked us up at our hotel, drove us around all day and then took us back home. All in all, the day made for an amazing food and cultural experience that has created lifelong memories. Having gone on dozens of food tours around the world, this is hands down my favorite!! Great job and THANK YOU to Shikha, Rajeev and the entire Food Tour in Delhi group! I can't wait to do it again soon.
Response from the operator: Namaste Shankar, It was a day well spend with you and your mother. It was a pleasure to host you again and your mother is a real motivation with high spirit and adventurous to try new food, glad that she enjoyed everything. We would love to host you again with more new options and flavours to try. Until then, keep eating! Team - Food Tour In Delhi

How long does Full Day Food Tour Of Delhi with a chef. Includes Tea Tasting take?

Is Full Day Food Tour Of Delhi with a chef. Includes Tea Tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Full Day Food Tour Of Delhi with a chef. Includes Tea Tasting?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New Delhi?
+
On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New Delhi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New Delhi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
