About this experience
Your guide will meet you in Kusadasi or Selcuk (in a hotel you stay in or at the port pier); after short drive we will visit the House of Virgin Mary. According to Christian tradition, Mary was brought to Ephesus by the Apostle John after the Resurrection of Christ and lived her final days there. This church was erected on the foundation of that house. Afterwards, we will drive for 10 minutes to the ancient city of Ephesus, the largest open-air museum in Turkey and the best preserved classical city in the Eastern Mediterranean. Cleopatra, Mark Antony, Virgin Mary and John the Apostle once walked its streets. Your guide will explain you about life in ancient Rome as you walk through the history of this important city. Then you will visit the Temple of Artemis which is one of the Seven wonders of the ancient World. During this tour you can also visit the Basilica of St. John and Ephesus indoor Museum where you can see statues and fragments found in Ephesus. .

A perfect day in Ephesus
What a great day in Ephesus. I started planning this day over a year in advance. My communications with Ertunga on the planning were easy. Our guide for the day, Ozgur, was right where he was supposed to be and right on time with a luxurious Mercedes Mini Van and driver. We had learned just that morning that our port departure time had been moved up an hour. Ozgur said the day would be tight, but we would work it out and we did. I had been to Ephesus over 20 years earlier, for my friends it was their first visit. Ozgur provided us with such incredible information on Ephesus, its history, the excavations and so much more. Ozgur was great in navigating our group of three through the larger groups to ensure we saw what we needed to see and could hear his narratives. The Terrance Houses were not yet open to the public 20 years ago, so I was excited to finally visit them, and they did not disappoint. Such incredible mosaics and wall frescos. After a few hours in Ephesus we headed to a local restaurant for lunch, which was tasty and unrushed giving us a further opportunity to learn about Ozgur and his years spent as a guide. A very special day with Ozgur in an incredible place.

The best and only guide to use in Kusadesi
Ertunga is the best and only guide we use in Kusadesi. He listened to what we wanted and delivered ABOVE AND BEYOND. When we return to Kusadesi we only call Ertunga. He is extremely knowledgeable, very informative, helpful and ensures our experience is the best possible

A nice day in Ephesus
My husband and I had a great tour in Ephesus with Maria. She's very knowledgeable and patient! We also visited the House of Mary and Sirince, had nice lunch, great driver and vehicle... We would definitely recommend this company and Maria to anyone interested in visiting Ephesus and other sites in the area!

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
