Excellent day around Delhi exploring major sites

A really fun and fascinating day out with Tavrej who was a fantastic tour guide. We did a ride on the metro and a short ride on a local bus. It was fun to experience these but for most of the rest of the day, we got around by walking or tuktuk. We hit a lot of the major sites in or near New Delhi, including Humayun’s tomb and other tombs nearby in the complex, plus a stepwell, the India Gate, Khan market, a traditional laundry business, a major Sikh Gurudwara (with visit to kitchens) and the Gandhi house/museum/martyrdom site. Lunch was at a casual restaurant in Khan market - very good. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to get to know Delhi and who doesn’t mind walking a bit (though note that we did not cover Old Delhi/Red Fort). I have done several tours by this company (Reality Tours and Travel) and they are all great - no tourist traps, no push to buy anything.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed exploring Delhi’s highlights with Tavrej — he’ll be so happy to know his guiding made the day special. It’s wonderful that you appreciated travelling like a local and experiencing the city’s diverse sights and stories without the usual tourist traps. We’re truly grateful for your continued trust in Reality Tours & Travel and hope to welcome you again soon for another adventure! 🙏

A perfect day because of a perfect Guide

Very enthusiastic and care taking of my interests (photography, „looking behind the curtains“). Also not just walking through the points, but flexible in time and places to see. Did also the street art tour with him, with a lot of time for diving into. Great Great Great! Thanks a lot!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a perfect day exploring Delhi and that your guide made the experience flexible, engaging, and tailored to your interests—especially photography and discovering the city’s hidden sides. It’s great that you also enjoyed the street art tour! We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you again soon.

Perfect day

Naresh was a well-informed guide who gave us time to explore the sights at our own pace. We learned a lot about Indian and particularly Delhi culture. He also recommended a very good restaurant for lunch. Finally he helped us with finding a Sim-card for us.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review, Johannes! We’re delighted to hear you had a perfect day exploring Delhi with Naresh. His knowledge, flexibility, and thoughtful recommendations really make the tour special, and he’ll be so pleased to know you appreciated him. We’re also glad he could help with practical details like finding a SIM card — that’s all part of making your visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Full Day Delhi Sightseeing Tour by Public Transport: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.

How much does Full Day Delhi Sightseeing Tour by Public Transport cost?

+

Prices start at $3300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full Day Delhi Sightseeing Tour by Public Transport take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.

Is Full Day Delhi Sightseeing Tour by Public Transport worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day Delhi Sightseeing Tour by Public Transport?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full Day Delhi Sightseeing Tour by Public Transport suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Full Day Delhi Sightseeing Tour by Public Transport?

+

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full Day Delhi Sightseeing Tour by Public Transport start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New Delhi?

+

On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New Delhi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New Delhi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
