Definitely worth it!
Talking to other travellers, we were advised to book this all-day excursion, rather than any of the shorter Perito Merino trips offered by other companies, and we were so glad we did. Very comfortable boat, air conditioning, huge windows, lots of outdoor viewing areas, and friendly and efficient staff. We spent a significant amount of time at Perito Moreno itself, and witnessed quite a large calving. Things to consider: We didn't see anyone who seemed impressed with the optional lunch boxes - definitely worth doing what most people did and bring your own food and drinks - all seats have large tables. Some passengers paid extra for the option to disembark at Perito Moreno, visit the board walks, a DC then get transported to the start - crazy decision in my opinion - the boardwalks are much too far away from the glacier, and after we had dropped them off, the boat went back to take another full length sail past the glacier, witnessing a significant calving. The small print says that the trip might have to miss the Spegazzini Glacier under certainconditiins, and there would be no refund - I suspect that the 'certain conditions' are more frequent than they make out. However, a wonderful trip, and definitely worth doing.
Response from the operator: Dear Peter, Thank you very much for sharing your experience and for highlighting the comfort of the vessel, the professionalism of the crew, and the impressive calving you were able to witness. We would like to clarify a few points that may be helpful for future travelers. The Perito Moreno Glacier boardwalks are the most iconic and emblematic site within the National Park, offering a unique panoramic experience from land with multiple viewing levels and perspectives. For this reason, many visitors choose to combine the navigation with a visit to the boardwalks in order to enjoy a more complete glacier experience. Regarding the optional lunch boxes, they are entirely voluntary and have been very positively rated by numerous travelers over the years, particularly for their quality and convenience during the excursion. As for the Spegazzini Glacier, we would like to provide full reassurance: in the past five years, the visit to Spegazzini has never been canceled. The note in the terms and conditions refers strictly to standard safety and navigation protocols, which are included as a precaution, but in practice this part of the itinerary has not been canceled. We truly appreciate your feedback and are very pleased to know that overall you had a wonderful experience and found the excursion definitely worth doing. Kind regards,

Cute.
It is beautiful, nothing to add to the majestic Lake Argentino with its glaciers. Well organized and comfortable, the guides explain perfectly everything one should know. I don’t know if it’s a review but the whole trip insists on the theme of the photographers and the photos and the prices and they reiterate it and sincerely tire. Taking that out, all out of 10

Beautiful experience
Beautiful excursion, the views are amazing. We chose to include the food in the excursion but you can also take your food to the shelter, the wonderful landscapes!
Response from the operator: muchas gracias por tus comentarios y por haber disfrutado de nuestros Glaciares

The Glacier is nice but the experience is not so good....
The good: a) The Spegazzini glacier and its surroundings. b) the refuge in Spegazzini, comfortable for lunch. You can bring food and drinks or buy food there, reasonable prices. c) The walkway with viewpoints from the port to the refuge, with a good view and a lot of information about what was seen d) Fast transfer from Calafate and boarding/disembarkation The bad: a) You cannot navigate to Upsala Glacier because it is unstable/dangerous. In our case it couldn't even be seen from a distance due to fog/rain. Decline and loss of time in navigation. b) The engine on boat #1 broke and boat #2 had to tow it to the Spegazzini shelter. Waste of time for passengers Recommendation to the tour operator (Patagonia only): just visit the Spegazzini and lunch, it would be a cheaper tour and also the entire day would not be used for 1 excursion.
Response from the operator: muchas gracias por su comentario.

Unmissable
Impressive and recommended place. It is advisable to take the excursion with the company in free time within El Calafate. If you do not have a reservation, there are several companies that offer the tour in the city on Libertador Avenue. The glacier is indescribable, if you come to observe and get to know them, the tour and navigation are definitely worth it. If you like photography, bring two batteries.

Full-Day Cruise to Upsala, Spegazzini & Moreno Glaciers– MarPatag: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for El Calafate.
How much does Full-Day Cruise to Upsala, Spegazzini & Moreno Glaciers– MarPatag cost?
+
Prices start at $54 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in El Calafate usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full-Day Cruise to Upsala, Spegazzini & Moreno Glaciers– MarPatag take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in El Calafate is not rushed.
Is Full-Day Cruise to Upsala, Spegazzini & Moreno Glaciers– MarPatag worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in El Calafate, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Cruise to Upsala, Spegazzini & Moreno Glaciers– MarPatag?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full-Day Cruise to Upsala, Spegazzini & Moreno Glaciers– MarPatag suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full-Day Cruise to Upsala, Spegazzini & Moreno Glaciers– MarPatag?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in El Calafate can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in El Calafate and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full-Day Cruise to Upsala, Spegazzini & Moreno Glaciers– MarPatag start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central El Calafate within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in El Calafate?
+
On Outty we rank every El Calafate experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kayak Full-Day Activity in La Leona River from El Calafate, Perito Moreno Glacier with Navigation from El Calafate, Perito Moreno Glacier Full Day Tour with Optional Boat Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit El Calafate?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in El Calafate?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
