If you want a better experience book luxury or VIP
We went as family and the island was beautiful, we were speechless. All the tours drop you to the island but the journey there is also an experience so I will pay more for better service and food in the island. I would still go next time I'm in DR. Would highly recommend

Worth it
Scenery was gorgeous...undeveloped, natural coastline. Small boat was a little bumpy but we weren't on it too long. The natural pool was relaxing and fun. The island was very crowded; they take too many people there at once. They didn't warn us that there was very sharp coral in the water and my husband cut himself pretty good. As a whole, it was good and worth it just to see that beautiful water and coastline. We only left the resort one day and it was the perfect thing to do.

Not what we expected
Everything was very crowded. First with the catamaran you are shoulder to shoulder and the boat is loud and far from relaxing. It didn’t help that our tour had people literally passing out and vomiting on our boat. Once at the island it is far from a secluded beach. It was very crowded and by the time we debarked and ate on the island we had very little time to actually enjoy the island before having to head back. In short if you are looking for a nice relaxing trip this isn’t it. If you are looking for a crowded party boat then this is for you.
Response from the operator: Greetings, thank you for your comment and by the way we clarify that on our portal it says the number of people allowed, second this tour is shared so when the client wants a relaxed boat they buy a private tour. Regarding Saona beach we remind you that this is a public beach that more companies go there. If it is something more relaxed and a private beach would be the hotel's. But our clients always go to know the wonders of the Island and the natural pool.

Good
We fully enjoyed our day trip to Saona Island because the stop at the natural swimming pool was amazing (10/10) and the trip was fun. It could have been much better if we weren't so rushed and the boat wasn't so crammed full. We only got 30 minutes at the natura6 swimming pool, and roughly an hour at Saona Island. The meal was ok but could be improved by providing some sauce with the chicken. It was pretty dry. Other aspects of the trip were good.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your experience

This was literally the...
This was literally the highlight of our trip! It was a little interesting at first like getting there, you stop at a gas station but then after that you’ll be on your way to paradise! The tour guide and crew members were so much fun, and did an amazing job of getting us there and then getting us off the island and back to our resorts. I can’t recommend this day trip enough!! The water is absolutely beautiful! A must do!

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full-Day Cruise to Saona Island - Natural Pool and Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.
How much does Full-Day Cruise to Saona Island - Natural Pool and Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full-Day Cruise to Saona Island - Natural Pool and Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 10.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.
Is Full-Day Cruise to Saona Island - Natural Pool and Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 76 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Cruise to Saona Island - Natural Pool and Lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full-Day Cruise to Saona Island - Natural Pool and Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full-Day Cruise to Saona Island - Natural Pool and Lunch?
+
Around 27 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 10.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full-Day Cruise to Saona Island - Natural Pool and Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?
+
On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Punta Cana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
