Qutub-ud-din Aibak was a Viceroy when the construction commenced in 1199. In a remarkable turn of events, during the course of the construction he became the first Emperor of the Slave dynasty. 2. Iron Pillar of Delhi

The Iron Pillar is a mysterious phenomenon. Built 1600 years back through forge welding, this 24 feet pillar weights 6 tons and is made of 98% wrought iron. The biggest mystery about this pillar that over a Millenia it has escaped rust. There is only a tiny amount of rust despite the pillar witnessing the ravages of time. The purpose of the pillar is also a mystery with some believing it to be a flag staff for the King, while others say it was a sun dial. Some even believe it was originally in Madhya Pradesh and someone moved it to Delhi a thousand years ago!

Tour Delhi with Balwinder

We had a wonderful day exploring our hand picked monuments of Delhi. Our guide and driver Balwinder Singh was excellent. He was kind, knowledgeable and extremely flexible in adjusting our itinerary to our requests. We couldn't have imagined a better experience than what he delivered.

Excellent tour for female solo traveler

My full day tour with Balwinder was excellent!! The day started off on time and the car was like new, comfortable, and with plenty of a/c. Both he and my local guide were so informative and accommodating. I learned a lot about local history, customs, and religions. The lunch stop was very tasty (and was included in the price). I appreciated that when we stopped at the handicrafts shop, they made sure that I did not feel pressured to buy if I did not want to. As a female solo traveler, I felt very safe. I highly recommend this tour for an in-depth tour of the major sights!

Good basic city tour

The organization was good, I didn't book myself so don't know how it went but the car and the guide came on time, no problems. I was expecting a long explanation about Delhi history or something, but luckily the guide only explained the necessary at the places where we went (I really prefer it that way), but was always happy to answer questions if we had any. I think for a European, the old Delhi is probably more interesting to see, but since I had already seen that part, I chose this tour. The highlight was the hindu temple and the fountain/water show. I guess it depends a lot on the guide as well; ours was good an correct, no complaints.

Full day city tour of Delhi with Guide and Private Car: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.

How much does Full day city tour of Delhi with Guide and Private Car cost?

+

Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full day city tour of Delhi with Guide and Private Car take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.

Is Full day city tour of Delhi with Guide and Private Car worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full day city tour of Delhi with Guide and Private Car?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full day city tour of Delhi with Guide and Private Car suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full day city tour of Delhi with Guide and Private Car?

+

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full day city tour of Delhi with Guide and Private Car start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New Delhi?

+

On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New Delhi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New Delhi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
