Incredible Guide Incredible Cairo🤩
I was finding it difficult to find birding options for Cairo for this trip until I discovered this trip on Tripadvisor. Tripadvisor helped me find Ashy who contacted me over WhatsApp to confirm my Trip, answer all my questions and even took me for coffee before the trip to explain the day and make all arrangements for the day- he was just amazing picking me up at my Hotel door and Taking me to Al Fayoum Area for Birding. He was an expert guide who has intimate knowledge of the birds and their migration patterns. He was excellent in evaluating my Life List and getting me to find all available birds in the area. He made the trip incredible, personalized to me and was always friendly and did not feel commercial but more like birding with a friend. He always showed excitement when I found a lifer and allowed me enough time with the birds. A incredible guide who knows his birds and local customs/rules for photography with constant guidance and reassurance. Ashy really turned my trip to Cairo to an amazing experience🤩

Unforgettable experience for anyone looking to expand their life list!
Ashy is a knowledgeable birding guide with so much experience! Although I booked my tour during an off-season time for bird watching, Ashy was able to find so many unique species and lifers. He has literally written the book on the birds of the Fayoum, so there is no better guide. It was truly an unforgettable experience!

A Fantastic Trip
If you like birds, you’ll love this trip! Mohamed is very knowledgeable about the birds of Faiyum and where to find them. He even wrote about them and gave me a copy! I saw several new species for me, such as the beautiful White Breasted Kingfisher, a gorgeous turquoise little guy, and the brilliant African Green Bee-Eater. We also saw stilts, wagtails, lapwings, stilts, larks, doves and more. It was interesting driving through the small towns and see the markets, people cutting fodder for livestock and loading it sweet donkeys. We had lunch at a lovely spot that had a nice pottery shop. It was too windy to go out on the lake to see the flamingos, but there was so much to see that it turned out great. Mohamed was a wonderful host. He arrived to pick up early and took great care of me!

An incomparable and perfect trip thanks to Mohamed Ashmawy
Here is a fantastic tour guide, Mohamed Ashmawy, a highly professional and experienced guide who has mastered all aspects of his profession. He is also an ornithologist who has published a book on the birds of Egypt. He opens every door and has a perfect understanding of the Western mindset. He is extremely serious, courteous, perfectly honest, punctual, always on time, very helpful, very patient, always ready to please, and so serious and responsible. He always strives to guide and advise you with tact and elegance. Moreover, he is extraordinarily generous, even contributing from his own pocket. This is my fifth trip to Egypt, and I have never met anyone so selfless and who never pushes you to consume or spend unnecessarily. He is so considerate and respectful that I can only recommend him with the assurance of immense satisfaction. I spent several days with him and went on very long excursions, and he was always polite, courteous, very generous, and careful not to incur unnecessary expenses. A true gem. Traveling with him is like traveling with your best friend. Furthermore, I've driven thousands of kilometers with him, and he was a perfect driver: safe, very careful, and attentive, always ensuring my safety and comfort. I have never felt better understood by an Egyptian guide than with Mohamed. It was a great pleasure to have met him through a friend who traveled with him in Egypt seven years ago. My next trip to Egypt will definitely be with Mohamed! To be continued and repeated a thousand times!

A Long Day But Worth It.
We saw lots of birds and Ashy was kind enough to supply me with a copy of his book with it's beautiful photos. We also had a good lunch at a nice place to end the day. I enjoyed seeing some of Egypt outside of the big city too.

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full-Day Bird Watching Private Experience at Fayoum: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.
How much does Full-Day Bird Watching Private Experience at Fayoum cost?
+
Prices start at $210 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full-Day Bird Watching Private Experience at Fayoum take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.
Is Full-Day Bird Watching Private Experience at Fayoum worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Bird Watching Private Experience at Fayoum?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full-Day Bird Watching Private Experience at Fayoum suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Full-Day Bird Watching Private Experience at Fayoum?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full-Day Bird Watching Private Experience at Fayoum start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cairo?
+
On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
