Private Tour of Agra & Jaipur
Our private tour of Agra & Jaipur from Dehli went incredibly smoothly. Our driver Manjeet promptly picked us up from our hotel in the early morning hours and gave us a quick sense of the time of arrival in our first stop of Agra. Upon arrival in Agra we picked up our private tour guide (Raj) who provided us with some background on the city of Agra and the history of Taj Mahal. Raj then quickly guided us to the entrance to the Taj Mahal by 6:30am so that we would have the opportunity to see the sunrise and watch the light glean of of the brilliant white marble of this majestic palace. Raj took care of arranging the tickets and shepherded my wife & I into the shortest queues for a quick security check - we were on the palace grounds in < 10 min. Raj then took us to the ideal location to watch the sun rise over the eastern portion of the palace and even helped us capture some amazing camera shots. Raj then introduced us to a local photographer that offered to take some shots of my wife and I at various sections of the palace grounds. While the photographer was capturing some well chosen shots, Raj offered to take our camera to get more pics of the sun rising over the Taj Mahal. After our photo session, Raj gave us a thorough tour of the grounds and the exterior & interior of the palace which included a detailed history of the facts & fiction about the building of the Taj Mahal. Finally, Raj gave us some free time to wander the grounds and capture any other pictures we wanted or just spend some time relaxing in the quiet morning hours (before the large groups tours arrive). After several hours at the Taj Mahal, our driver picked us up to head to a local restaurant where Raj arranged for the photographer to join us so we could review & select any photos we wanted from the morning photo session. While there was no pressure to buy anything we did not want, my wife and I loved many of the photos and purchased several as both printed & digital copies. After breakfast, we said goodbye to Raj and left on another 4h ride to Jaipur. Upon arrival in Jaipur, we picked up our 2nd guide who took us to the Amber palace and gave us a tour of the grounds and plenty of opportunity for some great pics. After 1.5h at the Amber Palace, we went to check out the water palace and visited some of the marketplace areas in Jaipur for shopping. Manjeet then picked us up and shuttled us back to Dehli (4h trip) - it was a long day but well worth it for the memories!!
