Fascinating view into ancient history

The museum is not very big but the displays are interesting and varied, showing items from different eras. The labels could be a bit more detailed and expositions. The Mummy's rooms were sombre and respectful of the bodies on display. I felt a bit strange seeing real corpses but they were treated with dignity.

Very Worthwhile Visit

This modern museum gives an excellent overview of Egyptian civilization as per its name. It may well be overshadowed by the newly opened GEM, but this venue is of a manageable size. Excellent presentation with great signage in English. The mummies here from the Luxor tombs are spectacular and are thoughtfully presented.(No photos of them permitted) Clean toilets. Great café overlooking the lake. Allow a couple of hours.

Best Museum

It was one the beautiful places that I visited. It was something nice to see the mummies there. It also has a good place to eat in.

A deeper dive into Egypt's history

A brilliant museum which gives an insight into so much more of eygpts history. There was a wonderful exhibit on the fabrics made in the area which was fascinating. The highlight is still the Royal mummy collection and this was laid out in an atmospheric way as if heading underground to see them in era order. Had lunch with a lovely view over the river.

Fabulous!

Amazing. This museum is such a good teaser for what the Grand egyptian museum will be! The layout is perfect it is not too crowded but also shows off some of the most interesting pieces of not just ancient Egyptian history but also Christian and Islamic history too! The hall of royal mummies was such a crazy thing to behold. Some of the mummies were so well preserved that they still had their eyelashes. No photos are allowed in the royal mummy area, but i think that is a good thing it is a peaceful place for them to be observed respectfully

Full Cairo Trip from Hurghada: Pyramids, Sphinx, Museum & Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hurghada.

How much does Full Cairo Trip from Hurghada: Pyramids, Sphinx, Museum & Lunch cost?

+

Prices start at $14 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hurghada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full Cairo Trip from Hurghada: Pyramids, Sphinx, Museum & Lunch take?

+

Plan for about 17 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hurghada is not rushed.

Is Full Cairo Trip from Hurghada: Pyramids, Sphinx, Museum & Lunch worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hurghada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full Cairo Trip from Hurghada: Pyramids, Sphinx, Museum & Lunch?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full Cairo Trip from Hurghada: Pyramids, Sphinx, Museum & Lunch suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 17-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full Cairo Trip from Hurghada: Pyramids, Sphinx, Museum & Lunch?

+

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hurghada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hurghada and add a light layer if any part of the 17-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full Cairo Trip from Hurghada: Pyramids, Sphinx, Museum & Lunch start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hurghada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hurghada?

+

On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada: Luxor Valley of the Kings & Tutankhamun Tomb Trip, Orange Bay Island, Luxury Cruise to Orange Bay and Hula Hula island Trip. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hurghada?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hurghada?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
