    Magnificent and picturesque tour!

Priscila from Next View Tours led a truly memorable and informative tour to both Hallstatt ( approximately 2 hours total stay) and Salzburg ( visit approximately 3 hours total stay). It was an excellent combination of guided experiences and free time to explore at your own pace. We appreciated the time spent with Priscila at each location, as her insights enriched our understanding of the areas' rich history and culture. She added a personal touch by taking individual photos of each of us at Hallstatt and gifting us with these pictures—such a considerate gesture that made the experience even more special. Afterwards, we were given ample opportunity to explore independently, making the overall experience both engaging and personalized.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed exploring Hallstatt and Salzburg with Next View Tours. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you again soon!

    Yes, highly recommended!

This tour was a fantastic way to see urban and countryside beauty between Vienna, Halstatt, and Salzburg. And a great way to add two more cities to your list of places you visited within Austria. The lakeside beauty of Halstatt is breaking, and the small-town vibe is pleasant. And the large-city environment of Salzburg is enjoyable and offers options to suit everyone's tastes during their free time there. Go dining, shopping, explore The Sound of Music filming locations, learn more about Mozart, etc... I had a great time during this trip.

Response from the operator: We’re so happy to hear that you had a fantastic time in Hallstatt and Salzburg! Thank you for choosing Next View Tours and for sharing your experience. We truly appreciate your kind words!

Hitting the Highlights of the Austrian Alps, Lakes, & Classical Music!

A wonderful day trip from Vienna to Hallstatt and Salzburg by bus. This is a comprehensive tour if you are short for time in Vienna to visit neighboring landmark cities. Its give you a brief overview of Austria. The tour starts early and the drive is long however it makes up for having self-organize train or car rentals on your own. The bus had air conditioning and a bathroom. They provided espresso and biscuits during the ride. The tour bus was completely full about 50 people. The bus also stops at a rest stop between the two towns for a bio break. The guide walked us through Hallstatt and gave us tips and tricks how to navigate the mountain and lake town efficiently. She made recommendations for local shops for salt and pastries stores for signature Austrian style Viennoiserie. The guide took our pictures by the lake. Afterwards, we spent 1 hour of free time to explore. The walking tour in Salzburg was about 20 minutes, the guide shared facts about Mozart’s childhood home and the filming location of “The Sound of Music”. We had approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to self-explore the town on our own. The guide provided a few restaurant and chocolate and souvenirs shop recommendations. The guides were professional and proficient in english. The tour is short on time, so spend it wisely based on the suggested recommendations for free-time within town. The guides provided seamless communication, and safe transportation. Long and compact day on the bus but it’s worth it if you want to kick back and relax without having to preplan and self-navigate.

Response from the operator: Your lovely feedback means a lot to our team! Hallstatt and Salzburg are truly special destinations, and we’re happy we could help make your trip memorable. Thank you for traveling with Next View Tours!

    Last-Minute Late-Night Cancellation and Ghosted

We booked this tour (group of 4) over 1 month ahead of time, for our 4d stay in Vienna. The tour company cancelled our tour at 10:26pm the previous day, no communication and no replies on Tripadvisor to explain or apologize. This tour leaves the next day at 6am, which was a miracle we even stayed up late enough to see the email the night before. If the issue was that the group was too small/didn’t fill, they should have at least let us know 1d beforehand AT MINIMUM so that we could’ve made other plans for the day. Overall highly unprofessional and disappointing, try to avoid giving your business here. From Vienna, Lakes to Mountains, Hallstatt and Salzburg Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.

How much does From Vienna, Lakes to Mountains, Hallstatt and Salzburg Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $129 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Vienna, Lakes to Mountains, Hallstatt and Salzburg Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.

Is From Vienna, Lakes to Mountains, Hallstatt and Salzburg Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 103 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Vienna, Lakes to Mountains, Hallstatt and Salzburg Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Vienna, Lakes to Mountains, Hallstatt and Salzburg Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Vienna, Lakes to Mountains, Hallstatt and Salzburg Tour?

    +

Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Vienna, Lakes to Mountains, Hallstatt and Salzburg Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Vienna?

    +

On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Vienna?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Vienna?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
