Tour Positano
It was a fantastic day! My wife and I had a wonderful time. Captain Luigi is an extraordinary guy, kind and especially helpful. We visited Positano for two hours and then stopped at a restaurant in Nerano, recommended by Luigi. Thanks to him, we tried the typical dish of Nerano, delicious! 😋 Thanks for the day we spent together, I hope to come back one day. Thanks 👍

Terrible and rude manager
Booked a private boat tour from Sorrento, we we're informed the weather wasn't great however we were given the decision to go and we said yes, the manager didnt explain how bad the weather was going to be. We paid €600 and they asked if they could write it down as a tax deduction of €400. We boarded the boat, the captain was friendly and welcoming. We left to Positano and a storm was approaching, we arrived to Positano and the weather was getting worse. We had booked an 8 hour boat ride, but only had a 1 hour boat ride to Positano. We got off the boat and both of our bags were left in the boat, as we were certain the boat was staying due to the weather. We then messaged checking if our bags were onboard, the captain told us he would check after he stopped sailing. We werent aware that the boat had left us in Positano with no contact. We were left without our bags (therefore no money and no cards), we ended up getting a Ferry back to Sorrento later that day. The weather cleared within an hour as well. From there, we were told that the restaurant had our belongings, the restaurant was unaware of this. I then showed the restaurant the messages and he called the manger of the boat services. The manager said he was 30 minutes away and when he arrived he only had one of the bags, then took another 30 minutes to get the second bag. He then arrived in a small boat, handing the bag back. We discussed with the manger getting a refund, as we didnt get the full 8 hour service we paid for. He called us "Australians that dont care about the weather" and was arguing and raising his voice at us. The manager gave us the decision however we aren't a yacht club who own Diamante Blu Charter who are aware of weather conditions and boats! We also noticed when we got our second bag, the belongings inside the bag were re-arranged, showing that someone went through our bags. The captain also stated to us that he would ask the manager for a refund due to the conditions and not getting the full service. We asked for the contract we signed prior to the service on the 8th and didnt get a reply until the 12th of July. The contract didnt sate that there was a possibility of being left behind and not getting a refund. Overall, was not an enjoyable experience, we do not recommend this company and suggest others to look elsewhere!
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, What you wrote is completely untrue, and it is very clear that this review is simply a reaction to not receiving a refund, written with the intention of damaging our reputation. I am sorry for you, because 98% of our clients who are entitled to a refund do receive it — we always work in the same transparent way, and the safety of our guests is always our top priority. You were informed about the uncertain weather conditions and strongly advised not to leave, yet you insisted on going. Once at sea, a sudden buriana (if you do not know what that means, you can look it up) occurred. I personally called you several times, offering to bring you back safely to Sorrento by boat, but you refused and insisted that you wanted to continue and visit Amalfi. Regarding your bags, nobody touched your personal belongings — another false statement. I also sent you a copy of the contract you signed, where it is clearly specified that no refunds are provided in case of bad weather. We also have all the saved messages and video evidence of the actual weather conditions. The only truthful thing in your review is that you were warned about the very uncertain weather and especially advised against departing. It is very disappointing that, simply because you did not receive a refund, you decided to take revenge by leaving a negative review. That says a lot about the kind of person you are. Nevertheless, I am not worried, because the other 297 positive reviews clearly show the way we work and the level of service we provide. Kind regards, Diamante Blu Boats

A Dream Day on the Amalfi Coast with Capt. Catello
This was, without a doubt, one of the most incredible experiences of our trip to Italy. My husband booked a private boat tour from Sorrento to Positano with Captain Catello for our little family — just the two of us, our two daughters (ages 6 and 9), and my mom — and it was absolutely perfect. Having the boat to ourselves made the entire day feel so relaxed and personal. We were able to stop and swim in beautiful, quiet coves along the coast, and Catello knew all the best spots. He was warm, knowledgeable, and so accommodating — it felt like we had our own personal guide, captain, and local expert all in one. He dropped us off in Positano to explore on our own and picked us up when we were ready, which gave us such freedom. On the way back, he took us to a small seaside restaurant we never would have found on our own — it was delicious and so authentic. Watching our girls swim in the Mediterranean, laughing together on the boat, and soaking in the stunning views… it was truly magical. I’m so grateful we did this as a family. Private was 100% the way to go — this day was worth every penny and one I’ll treasure forever. Thank you, Captain Catello, for an unforgettable day!

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
From Sorrento : Private Amalfi Coast Daily Boat Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sorrento.
How much does From Sorrento : Private Amalfi Coast Daily Boat Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sorrento usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does From Sorrento : Private Amalfi Coast Daily Boat Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sorrento is not rushed.
Is From Sorrento : Private Amalfi Coast Daily Boat Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 35 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sorrento, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule From Sorrento : Private Amalfi Coast Daily Boat Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is From Sorrento : Private Amalfi Coast Daily Boat Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book From Sorrento : Private Amalfi Coast Daily Boat Tour?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sorrento can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sorrento and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does From Sorrento : Private Amalfi Coast Daily Boat Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sorrento within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sorrento?
+
On Outty we rank every Sorrento experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pizza School with Wine and Limoncello Tasting in a Local Farm, Private Amalfi Coast Day Tour from Sorrento or Naples, Sorrento Farm and Food Experience including Olive Oil, Limoncello, Wine tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sorrento?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sorrento?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
