Good small group boat ride to Capri

Great boat trip - fantastic crew- Vincento and Chiara made us feel welcome. Chiara gave excellent directions the day before. Lots of prosecco and limoncello on board! - We enjoyed the sights and the swimming; we got to swim twice (don’t expect snorkeling, there is nothing to see) - I felt that they could have done a better job pointing out sights along the way, it was hard to hear them as they talked. Also (on me) I wish we had planned our time in Capri in advance. We got off the boat and kind of wandered for 3 hours. If we had planned ahead, our Capri visit would have been better. Overall, this was a really good small group way to spend time on the water seeing Capri!

Dishonest, but a beautiful experience overall.

The Boat staff were nice, although not the ones pictured with the online advertisement… but I really lost a lot of time and money because they delayed our ride 2 hours (last minute) because they ended up taking would seem like friends on a private excursion prior to us being picked up for the morning. I got nothing but mixed reasons from different sources as to why the delay took place -which were all lies. One said the weather wasn’t good… Which was an absolute lie I spoke to a few captains that morning, as we awaited our two hour delay, and they all said it’s the most calmest beautiful morning, etc. The boat pulled up with a family already on board which you could clearly decipher were friends from that moment through the rest of the day and were given favoritism. I lost out on my excursion that was to take place after this one…. cannot cancel for refunds last minute. Also screwed up our scooter reservation on capri etc. Not cool. Also, did not stop at all of the stops listed. We were shown 6 areas, one of which was a beautiful but crowded swim spot. When asked about the blue grotto, they said it was always a 3 hour wait time so we were not even going to pass it. Which is fine, so long as it is accurately explained on their listing, which it’s not. I even emailed them about it ahead of time asking about it because it seemed the advertisement was not quite precise about it… They replied how it would be an extra cost of X amount of dollars per person. They didn’t reply that they’re not even going to attempt to pass by it. Anyway, just some honesty would be appreciated. I think three stars is too generous to give them quite frankly. I lost a lot of money and another excursion because of their lies.

Response from the operator: It’s always fascinating to read a review where the writer seems to have already decided the “truth” before ever asking for the facts. Let’s clear up a few things. First, the so-called “two-hour delay.” There was no “delay” — your booking was simply reassigned from the 8:00 a.m. departure to the 10:00 a.m. departure, which are our two standard morning times. This is a normal operational adjustment and does not mean we suddenly decided to take “friends” on a secret trip before you. Maritime schedules can shift to optimize routes, ensure safety, and coordinate with port traffic — all of which are far more important than sticking rigidly to a number on a clock. As for the “family” you saw onboard before your pickup — they were not “friends” receiving “favoritism.” They were guests on a different segment of the service, part of the logistical reshuffle that allowed us to still honor your tour that day. Sometimes a boat is repositioned with guests already onboard; this is not the scandal you seem to think it is. Regarding your “lost excursion” afterward — our terms, which you agreed to before booking, clearly explain that scheduling flexibility is a normal part of maritime operations. We cannot be responsible for separate, third-party activities you chose to stack so tightly on the same day. Next time, you might consider adding an extra day to your vacation instead of rushing around trying to squeeze everything into a single one like a marathon sprint — the sea is best enjoyed without a stopwatch. About the Blue Grotto: the fact that it often has a wait of up to three hours is exactly why it is never guaranteed on any standard Capri itinerary anywhere. We even explained in writing that it is an extra cost and subject to conditions — which, as you noticed, you were informed about before booking. The claim that we “didn’t even attempt to pass by it” ignores the reality that diverting there without the possibility of entry wastes time for all guests on board. Again, this is about efficiency, not deception. Finally, you mention “honesty.” Honesty works both ways. We operate with transparency, professional seamanship, and the reality of a coastline where conditions, port traffic, and timing matter more than what someone imagines the “perfect day” should look like. If that makes us less than “generous” in your star rating, we’ll accept that — but the idea that there was some hidden agenda or preferential treatment is simply a narrative you built yourself. We wish you calmer seas in your future travels — and perhaps a little more trust in the people who actually know how to run a boat.

Disappointed by Poor Time Management and Subpar Food

We were really looking forward to this boat tour, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Our swimming and relaxation time, one of the main reasons we booked was cut in half because other guests were over 30 minutes late. Instead of adhering to the schedule, the skippers decided to wait and accommodate them, which ultimately penalized those of us who were on time. This decision set a frustrating tone for the trip and significantly affected the value of the experience. To make matters worse, the food provided later was minimal, stale, and frankly unappetizing. Definitely not in line with what was promised or paid for. Overall, the experience felt mismanaged and disappointing. I would expect at the very least a partial refund, as the tour did not deliver what was advertised or what we paid for. Punctual guests should not have to sacrifice their time or enjoyment because of others’ lack of consideration.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we’re always open to constructive criticism, we must respectfully clarify a few points in regard to your review. First, although there was a brief delay at the start due to other guests arriving late, that time was fully recovered during the tour. Our skippers are trained professionals who prioritize both fairness and quality of experience, and we ensured that everyone enjoyed the full duration of swimming and relaxation time. We regret that this brief and managed delay colored your overall perception of the trip. As for the food provided, we serve fresh, light offerings that are specifically selected for a day at sea—options that are consistently praised by the vast majority of our guests for both quality and appropriateness. We understand that expectations can vary, especially for those unfamiliar with a yachting-style experience, which tends to prioritize elegance and simplicity over abundance. It’s also worth noting that shared experiences like ours require a spirit of flexibility and consideration. Unexpected delays can occasionally happen, and we believe that a small measure of patience enhances the collective enjoyment. Those unwilling to tolerate even minor inconveniences—ones that they themselves might cause in other circumstances—may not find shared group tours to be the right fit. Finally, we find it telling that your first instinct was to demand a refund and threaten to dispute the charge with your bank. This unfortunately reflects more on the approach than on the experience itself. While we respect all opinions, we must be fair and truthful: the service was delivered in full and in accordance with what was offered. We wish you all the best in your future travels and hope you find experiences more suited to your personal expectations.

    More time in Capri

Starts at 10 not 8 not enough time in Capr tough to see any attractions in 2 hours let alone eat lunch web site needs to be updated to 2 hrs in Xapri not 4

Response from the operator: Hello Kevin, thank you for your… creative interpretation of our tour. We’re impressed by your ability to compress time and rewrite our schedule! Our tours do start at 8:00 and at 10:00 AM, so, just a switch because safer and with better sea conditions (I’m sure that if we had departed at 8:00 AM, you would have left a bad review about the sea not being perfectly calm). You spent on land 3 hours and 29 minutes (we have GPS trace and timing map), so not clear why to lie about it. While we appreciate feedback, we do suggest checking the actual schedule next time before trying to rewrite reality.

How many days do you need in Positano?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
