Perfect trip to Nara
We booked a tour through Viator and they arranged for Masa to be our tour guide. He is an English teacher so spoke perfect English. We were delighted with the tour, he was exceptionally knowledgable and made the tour very interesting. He struck a very good balance between lots of interesting facts without overdoing it to become arduous. He also found a wonderful coffee and lunch stop.

Fantastic Day Trip from Osaka to Nara!
My mother and I wanted to visit Nara but were staying in Osaka during our visit. We had the pleasure of having Masa as our guide who came to our hotel in Osaka and made our trip to Nara easy and simple as he was extremely familiar with all the stations and train routes. He was also flexible enough during our tour to stop at stores and cafes during the journey. We had fantastic matcha and lunch and he was very patient and friendly. He was also extremely knowledgeable about Nara and answered all of our questions regarding its history and Buddhist and Shinto traditions. I highly recommend Masa as your guide for any tours and we appreciated his effort to make this visit a the wonderful experience!

Best Nara tour with very knowledgeable English speaking guide
We had the best day with Masanobu in Nara. We saw several temples and shrines and of course the deer. He was an incredible tour guide and we would highly recommend booking this tour if you want an in depth tour. Learned so much about Japan and culture and religion and food. Can not wait to return with my kids.

+

How far in advance should I book From Osaka: Private Nara Tour with a National Licensed Guide?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Osaka and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Osaka?
+
On Outty we rank every Osaka experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hungry Osaka Street Food Tour:15 Tastings & 3 Drinks with a Local, Ultimate Osaka Walking Tour: Castle, Dotonbori, Gems & Lunch, Osaka Castle Walking Tour and Castle Tower Admission. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Osaka?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Osaka?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
