    About this experience

*Please note: seats on the bus are allocated, but seats on the Bernina Red Train are not allocated, but our agency has an entire carriage for the whole group, so don't worry about seats on the train: we will all be seated! IMPORTANT NOTE: -> Our carriage is the "Bernina Red Train", NOT the "Bernina Express". What's the difference? ** "Trenino Rosso del Bernina" (ours) - -> Panoramic windows that open, allowing you to breathe the mountain air. You can lean out the window to take all your "Instagrammable photos" (example : second photo gallery) ** "Bernina Express" (NOT ours) - - > Windows slightly larger, but NOT openable. You will sit throughout the journey, taking pictures through a window. If the sun reflects off the windows, the photos will be blurry and will NOT be a good memory. (Not recommended) - - > In conclusion : our carriage of the "Bernina Red Train" is much better!!

Fantastic train ride, not much time in Saint Moritz

The views from the train were stunning. It can be challenging getting pictures as everyone crowds to the windows. The coach transfer was comfortable and the tour was generally well organised. The only drawback was that we had far more time in Tirano than Saint Moritz, our destination. We barely had a chance to walk around. We should have either caught and earlier train or left Milan later. Otherwise all was good.

Response from the operator: Dear customer, We're very happy that you enjoyed the tour and the overall organization we organized with our staff. However, train schedules vary depending on the season, demand, and availability. The timetables for visiting each location were respected as scheduled. We will certainly strive to continually improve to offer impeccable service as a tour operator. Thank you for your comment, which is greatly appreciated as it helps us improve our services. Have a safe journey home!

From Milan: Bernina Red Train and Tour of St. Moritz: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Milan.

How much does From Milan: Bernina Red Train and Tour of St. Moritz cost?

    +

Prices start at $141 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Milan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Milan: Bernina Red Train and Tour of St. Moritz take?

    +

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Milan is not rushed.

Is From Milan: Bernina Red Train and Tour of St. Moritz worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Milan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Milan: Bernina Red Train and Tour of St. Moritz?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Milan: Bernina Red Train and Tour of St. Moritz suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Milan: Bernina Red Train and Tour of St. Moritz?

    +

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Milan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Milan and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Milan: Bernina Red Train and Tour of St. Moritz start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Milan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Milan?

    +

On Outty we rank every Milan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gnocchi, Pasta, Tiramisù and Wine Class, Authentic Pasta & Tiramisu Cooking Class in Milan, Milan's Hidden Gems: Unique Bike Tour (ENG, NL). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Milan?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Milan?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
