The stronghold called the "Wolf's Jaw" built on rock formations in the 13th century in the place where there was a wooden stronghold burned down during the Tatar invasion, has an incredibly rich history. It was the property of many rulers who modernized it for 500 years. Destroyed by the Swedish Army in 1702, it complements the beautiful landscape of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. The castle experiences its second youth thanks to the series "The Witcher" from Netflix, where it was filmed.

    Highly Recommend!!

The castle tour was an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our driver was great, we got amazing photos, and it was very cool to see a filming location from The Witcher.

    Good tour to castle Ogrodzieniec

Our driver show up on time. The vehicle is clean and comfortable. It took us 3 hours for round trip. So we have 2 hours at the castle. I would say the castle total worth spending 2 hours there. The structure and view is special for taking photos. Thank you, Thomas

Guide didn’t bother to show up but took my money

Paid and confirmed the trip on the site. Didn’t receive an email the day before confirming pickup time but the activity says it starts at 8am so didn’t think it was a problem. I called the number for the tour guide in the morning to confirm pickup. No answer. At 8am the guide called and said he sent an email the day prior (he did not, I checked my spam and you can message via Viator) and he said he called but my phone was off (it was not, and clearly my number works because he called me at 8am the day of the trip). He said he needed to reschedule the trip for the next day because the site was closed (it was not, I confirmed the site was open the day prior). I couldn’t reschedule because my flight left the day he wanted to reschedule, and also the day he wanted to take us was a National polish holiday so the site would likely not be open that day. I’m now waiting for my refund, but thankfully I paid via PayPal so if they won’t give it PayPal will ensure I receive my refund and start any legal proceedings needed so they can get their money back. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. I would have been more understanding if they were just honest and said they didn’t receive notification of the booking or maybe something happened with their cars etc. But they should have contacted me prior and they didn’t but lied to say they made their attempts. Completely unprofessional service.

    comfortable and exiting

went to see Ogrodzieniec Castle for my birthday, had a good time and a really interesting conversation throughout the day on our drive to and around the Castle. Wojtek was friendly, knowledgeable and a really good guide. to top it off he gave us some really good advice on where to get our dinner.

Is From Krakow: "The Witcher" Ogrodzieniec Castle Day Trip worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 44 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Krakow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krakow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krakow and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Krakow?

    +

On Outty we rank every Krakow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Complete Cracow Bike Tour (small group of maximum 15 people!), Krakow–Zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka, Krakow: Zakopane & Hot Springs Tour with Cable Car (Hotel Pickup). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Krakow?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Krakow?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
