    Great experience

We really enjoyed this experience. As part of the journey our guide Thang gave us a description of plans to build a bridge to replace the ferry the bus travelled on, and ongoing background on how Vietnam is growing and changing. We enjoyed feeding the monkeys, with guidance from Thang. The crocodiles were a bit sleepy, but it was good to see them in their natural habitat, and not some artificial concrete environment. We opted for taking the speedboat to the Sac Guerrilla Base, which was enjoyable. The base gave us great insights into the life of the Vietnamese who survived there during the war. As a bonus, some elderly veterans from that time were visiting that day. The meal before we returned was delicious, I'm a vegetarian, and there were three options available to eat. We also visited a local fish market, and fisherman's temple. We felt we got a low-key, genuine insight into the local Vietnamese culture. We would highly recommend it.

    Do it!

A great day out! Sam was a fantastic guide and no dramas with the bus etc, it never felt too crowded either. The monkeys did their monkey things well, my son also really liked checking out the crocs, crabs, mudskippers and doing the board walks. Some traffic on the way back - no fault or issue for us, but just keep post-trip plans flexible. Again, highly recommended!

If you’ve ever wanted to feed crocodiles and monkeys

A decent day out. I didn’t have much interest feeding the monkeys but feeding the crocodiles was amazing! Paid extra to go on the speed boat into the jungle for the war exhibit which was great fun and very interesting for anyone interested in the war. Lunch was good especially for those who like the local food. You will spend a lot of time in the minibus or waiting for the ferry. All in all I’m glad I booked the trip just to feed the crocodiles!

    Great Day at Monkey Island

Had a great day at Monkey Island. We saw hundreds of monkeys and even had the chance to feed them. Thang was an awesome guide and shared many locals facts on our ride. Aaron was great at communicating pick up at our hotel, and everything went smoothly.

    +

That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 433 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ho Chi Minh City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
