Beautiful destinations, excellent vehicle, but unfortunately the private guide service was not what we expected.
We took two private full-day tours with this company during our trip to Frankfurt as a couple: Private Day Trip to Würzburg & Rothenburg Private Day Trip to Heidelberg, Rüdesheim & Rhine Valley Cruise Honestly, I’m not quite sure where to start. The places themselves are absolutely beautiful and definitely worth visiting. Unfortunately, our experience with the guide and the lack of clarity when booking the tours made the overall experience fall short of what we expected from a private tour. We specifically chose private tours because we wanted more comfort, flexibility, and information during our days. The vehicle was definitely a plus — it was high-end, clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Our guide, who was also the driver, was not rude at all, but his role as a guide was very limited. He would answer some questions when we asked, but there wasn’t much explanation or information provided throughout the day. His English was also not very fluent, which made communication somewhat difficult and created a language barrier. On one of the two tours, we came across a group of Chinese tourists, and the guide was very friendly and helpful toward them, which of course is not a problem by itself. However, the difference in the level of attention made us feel somewhat left out and uncomfortable. As non-Chinese travelers, we honestly felt that we were not receiving the same level of attention. We also felt rushed throughout both tours. We understand that the itineraries include several places in one day and that there are schedules to follow, but the pressure to keep moving was very noticeable. Since this was a private tour, we expected a little more flexibility and attention to our comfort. For example, bathroom stops were not offered very frequently, and we never really felt that the guide was checking whether we were comfortable or needed a break. Another thing that really surprised us was that, at the end of the tour, the guide tried to sell us some beauty products. After paying a significant amount for two private tours and also leaving a good tip, we found this to be quite unprofessional and unnecessary. Overall, the destinations were amazing, the vehicle was excellent, and we are glad we visited these places. However, the actual private guiding service did not meet our expectations for the price we paid. Looking back, we honestly feel that we might have had a similar experience — or possibly an even better one — by booking a group tour for much less money. If you are considering booking with this company, I would strongly recommend confirming beforehand who your guide will be, how fluent their English is, and exactly what level of guiding service is included. For us, it felt more like having a driver who took us from one place to another and occasionally shared a few historical facts, rather than having a true private guide who was engaged in making our experience special. Beautiful destinations, excellent vehicle, but unfortunately the private guide service was not what we expected.
