What you'll see and do

  1. Great Sphinx

Our day starts by seeing the guardian of the necropolis, the Sphinx (you know, the one with the missing nose!), which stands in front of the second Pyramid of Khepren. We will enter the Giza Plateau from the Sphinx Gate to beat the crowds to the site, and after seeing the Sphinx, we’ll walk to the mysterious great pyramid of King Cheops, where you can marvel at the sheer size of the construction, and try and formulate your own theories as to how it was built.

60 minutes here · Admission included

  2. Gizeh Plateau

Our private Pyramids tour continues to the second Pyramid of Giza, which is the second largest and the only pyramid that still carries part of its original casing. From there, we’ll continue to the third and the smallest of the Giza Plateau pyramids. And no visit to the Pyramids of Giza would be completed without stopping at the panoramic view point where you get to see the all the pyramids of Giza in the one spot (and take a photo like the ones you see in travel books – free of tourists! Well, almost…)

60 minutes here · Admission included

  3. Cairo

Leaving the amazing pyramids behinds, we’ll head back out to the streets of Cairo and stop by a local restaurant for lunch. We’ll be treating you to Koshary, a dish of rice, pasta, lentils, fried onions, and chili sauce, and a favourite amongst young local Egyptians.

Comfortable private tour to visit the pyramids and Sphinx

We had a great time with our guide Wael Magdy. He was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about the Pyramids and Sphinx. He was easy to talk to and gave us a great time. He also gave us great tips for Restaurants and fulfilled our wishes. We shared a very nice lunch together, it was the best we have eaten in Kairo. The car rides were very comfortable.

Fabulous private guided tour

Wael displays a great depth of knowledge and passion for the Giza Plateau. A takeaway from this tour: the pyramids and sphinx are not just monuments but have deeper astrological and religious expressions designed to secure eternal life for Egypt’s Pharoahs. A highly recommended experience!

Good trip but a bit rushed

We wanted to see as much as possible and elected to do a private half day Giza only trip. Our guide was Maryam. During this we went inside the great pyramid and smallest one as well as the tomb of Mars Anke, which were great. We did feel a bit rushed and our guide tried to dissuade us from visiting the panoramic viewpoint at the end, advising the pictures wouldn’t be that different. We’re glad we said we wanted to stop there though. The trip we booked did say that it included lunch at a local restaurant. This wasn’t mentioned throughout the trip, and we were dropped back at our hotel after visiting Giza. Whilst we booked this trip to see as much of Giza as we could and would happily sacrifice food time to see more of the sights, it would have been nice if this could have been mentioned, even if to say that more time at the site would mean no time for lunch.

Must do see and understand the Giza Pyramids complex.

This is an excellent detailed tour of the Giza Pyramids with lots of time to explore and learn as much as you can handle and more. Our guide, Muhammad was fantastic, he had the perfect combination of knowledge, passion and communication skills to make him a superb tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Cairo even if your have already been on a group tour that included the Pyramids.

Personal och knowledgeable guide

Our guide Ahmed was amazing. He had a vast knowledge of everything related to the Egyptian history. Also he was very keen on making sure we understood what it would take to go into the chamber if The Great Pyramid.

From Cairo: Private Crowd Free Half Day Pyramids Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Giza.

How much does From Cairo: Private Crowd Free Half Day Pyramids Adventure cost?

+

Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Giza usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Cairo: Private Crowd Free Half Day Pyramids Adventure take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Giza is not rushed.

Is From Cairo: Private Crowd Free Half Day Pyramids Adventure worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 59 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Giza, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Cairo: Private Crowd Free Half Day Pyramids Adventure?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Cairo: Private Crowd Free Half Day Pyramids Adventure suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book From Cairo: Private Crowd Free Half Day Pyramids Adventure?

+

Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Giza can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Giza and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Cairo: Private Crowd Free Half Day Pyramids Adventure start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Giza within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Giza?

+

On Outty we rank every Giza experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pyramids Sphinx Camel ATV Bike Shopping and Nile Dinner Cruise, Cairo 8 Hour Private Tour of Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum, Pyramids Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Nile Felucca or Bazaar. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Giza?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Giza?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
