    It’s ok, a bit disappointing

The drop off and pickup point is outside the city, be prepared to walk for 15-20 minutes to and from the tour bus. Very inconvenient. The boat ride was amazing. But if you go with a chance of rain be prepared to get wet! So disappointed I took an Uber for €100.00 back

The transport leaves us far from the entrance, with no information what to do. We have something to do. Although the place is small

    Unreliable & Unprofessional

Booked this for while we were in Bari on a cruise. The company contacted me by WhatsApp the day before to cancel & asked if we could come a different day instead, which was really annoying. Book at your own risk.

    Lovely people to deal...

Lovely people to deal with in the office / WhatsApp however, the actual tour was very poorly managed. We got dropped off at a location, with literally no communication from anyone other than the driver holding up his phone saying ‘Depart here 3pm’. We had to navigate ourselves through the town to another pick up point (no one told us this is what we had to do, we just started talking to other passengers and we all realised this is what they expected us to do). The pick up driver was 15 mins late. There was no sign to say we were in the correct location, we had to ask in the cafe opposite. We get dropped off by the boat pick up. We get out and the driver says nothing about pick up after. No one told us where to go. Eventually we take ourselves to where the crowds were, hear our name and get on the boat. Boat chaps were friendly but didn’t speak any English, which was no help to us trying to learn about the area. We get off the boat, no one in sight to tell us where we will be picked up or even if we will be picked up. Finally found someone with a tour T shirt on and asked them and they said they’d call a driver for us. We get taken back to town. Then we have to walk the 20 mins back to the pick up point. Again, no guide or information. We get dropped off back in Bari. Boat trip ok but no information given from anyone regarding the area, the boat trip, where we need to go etc. I would not recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Dear guest, Thank you for your detailed feedback. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and lack of communication you experienced. This is not the standard we strive to provide. We always share all detailed information and schedules via WhatsApp or email prior to the tour, but we will ensure that the instructions are even clearer for future guests. We hope to be able to offer you another of our experiences in the future! Kind regards, -Erika, Team Pugliamare

    Lots of free time

You are sent a message the day before with 3 Google map links, one for where to get the minibus in Bari, one for where to go for the boat tour and one for where to get the minibus back to Bari. You are dropped off on the edge of the town (near the station) at about 10:00 and then left to your own devices until 13:30 when you have to meet the minibus that will take you to the boat tour. The boat tour is excellent and the guide was very knowledgeable. You are then taken back to Polignano at about 15:30 and you then have to be back at the bus stop for 17:30. There are people all over the town selling the same boat trip. If you have mobility issues please bear in mind that the walk from the bus stop to the town is uphill on the way back.

Response from the operator: Dear guest, Thank you for your review! We are delighted that the boat tour and our skippers lived up to your expectations. However, we would like to point out that, due to local traffic regulations, some of our vehicles cannot directly access the roads closest to the city center. For this reason, it may be necessary to walk between the various meeting points. We hope to see you again in the future for more new experiences with us. Best regards -Erika, Team Pugliamare

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bari.

How much does From Bari: Free time and boat tour to the Polignano Caves cost?

    +

Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bari usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Bari: Free time and boat tour to the Polignano Caves take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bari is not rushed.

Is From Bari: Free time and boat tour to the Polignano Caves worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bari, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Bari: Free time and boat tour to the Polignano Caves?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Bari: Free time and boat tour to the Polignano Caves suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Bari: Free time and boat tour to the Polignano Caves?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bari can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bari and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Bari: Free time and boat tour to the Polignano Caves start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bari within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bari?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bari experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bari’s Ultimate Street Food Tour - Small Group by Do Eat Better, Boat Tour of the Polignano a Mare Coast with Aperitif, Polignano a Mare: Boat Tour of the Caves - Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bari?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bari?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
