Wonderful day on Aegina island

We had an amazing day with our super nice host on Aegina island. The tour is well planed and brings you to a lot of beautiful places like the islands famous temple and the wonderful beach. It was a really funny experience, as it felt more like biking with a good friend than with a guide. Nevertheless he had tons of useful and interesting infos about the islands, beaches, restaurants and hotels. The atmosphere was super chill and even our special request to keep the bikes a few days longer was no problem at all. The bikes themselves are in good condition, high quality models and equipped with lights, spare tubes and everything you might need. So if you are thinking about a bike tour in or around Athens, this is the bike club for you!

Response from the operator: Hey Paul! Thank you very much for your nice words! It was a great day on Aegina island. Such a pleasure to cycle Aegina with you. You are great guys and it was really like cycling with good friends. Hope to see you again in the future!

Perfection on Wheels!

The Flat Tyres Aegina bike tour was my absolute favorite experience in Greece. Stavros, a brilliant guide full of charisma, was deeply knowledgeable about Greece and an expert guide. He is super attentive and went beyond my expectations in every single way. I enjoyed every facet of the tour, from the ferry ride and climb to the temple of Aphaea, to the swim in the Aegean Sea (!!!!!!). Foodies and hungry cyclists would be happy to know we ended the tour with a scrumptious Greek meal. I also sampled pistachios that grow on the island and bought some pistachio butter to take home. This 51 km ride left me tired, happy, and sun-kissed, while also satisfying my curiosity, and fulfilling my desire to cycle for the day. Thank you Stavros!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much Melody! Your words make me feel so proud. It was a wonderful cycling experience. Hope to see you again in the future! Best wishes!!!

Cycling Adventure to Aegina Island with Stavros

I recently embarked on an incredible bicycle ride to Aegina, a captivating island located near Athens. This adventure, guided by the knowledgeable and passionate Stavros, exceeded all my expectations and left me with lasting memories. If you're looking to break free from the bustling city and discover the natural beauties of Greece, I highly recommend this tour. From the moment we set off on our bikes, Stavros impressed us with his extensive knowledge of the island's history and culture. His insightful narratives and captivating stories added depth and meaning to our journey. Stavros's passion and enthusiasm made the experience all the more enjoyable. The length of the ride was perfectly planned, allowing us ample time to explore the island at a comfortable pace. Whether you were an experienced cyclist or a novice, the tour catered to all skill levels. One of the highlights of the tour was the opportunity to take a refreshing swim in the pristine waters of the Aegean Sea. Stavros guided us to a secluded beach, where we could relax, rejuvenate, and soak in the natural beauty surrounding us. The serenity of the beach, coupled with the crystal-clear waters, offered a much-needed respite from our cycling adventure. Another remarkable experience was reaching the mountain top to explore ancient ruins. The bicycle ride to Aegina with Stavros as our guide was an extraordinary adventure. The perfect blend of cycling, swimming in the sea, and exploring ancient ruins made it a well-rounded and captivating experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone yearning to escape the city and immerse themselves in Greece's natural beauty.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for the nice words Peter! We had a wonderful day cycling Aegina with you! I hope to see you again in the future!

Beautiful Aegina and ferry trip, chaperoned brilliantly by Stavros. Keep your wits about you on the busy street section.

Very well looked after by Stavros the whole time! The initial few km are on bicycle paths, then a few km to the ferry port in Piraeus on very busy city streets but as an experienced cyclist found it okay. The beautiful island of Aegina is such a contrast to the bustle of Athens. Quiet, deserted beaches lapped by crystal blue sea, sleepy low rise villages and a lovely, not too steep climb up to the temple of Aphaea. The descent back into the port was very enjoyable. Despite the usual restaurant being closed, we found another cafe which had lovely food. We were lucky enough to witness a fantastic sunset during return serene ferry crossing.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much Andrew! Very nice to meet you and cycling Aegina island together! 💪🚴

Aegina Bike Tour—Best day trip ever!

When I was planning our trip to Greece I couldn’t figure out how to work in an island trip and something adventurous like cycling given our short time and focus on ancient ruins. Thank goodness I searched those keywords and up popped Flat Tyres! From the moment I sent my inquiry, Stavros was extremely responsive and helped us fit the cycling excursion on Aegina to everything we were looking for. I was too nervous to navigate ferries and bike rental on my own—this is one of the many benefits of going with Flat Tyres. Another is the unbeatable personal touch. My husband, two teenage children and I felt like we were spending the day with old friends (Stavros and his friend Spiros who joined that day.) They explained and showed us things about Aegina that we never would have discovered on our own. (They also gave us some tips for parts if Greece we had yet to visit—thank you!) And there is no better way to explore the island than by bike. The Temple of Aphaia (roughly contemporary to the Parthenon) was incredible and a site not to be missed. The Aegina bike ride was a full, very active day and the best adventure of our trip.

Response from the operator: What a wonderful time we had Nancy! Cycling Aegina island with you was such a pleasure. Our love to you and your family. Thank you very much for your nice words. Take care!

From Athens: Exploring Aegina Island by Bike: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does From Athens: Exploring Aegina Island by Bike cost?

+

Prices start at $178 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Athens: Exploring Aegina Island by Bike take?

+

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is From Athens: Exploring Aegina Island by Bike worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Athens: Exploring Aegina Island by Bike?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Athens: Exploring Aegina Island by Bike suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 15. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 11-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book From Athens: Exploring Aegina Island by Bike?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Athens: Exploring Aegina Island by Bike start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

+

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
