    Interactive, informative and interesting

What a fabulous day. I cannot speak more highly of our wonderful team of three guides - Astrid, Rodrigo and our multi talented bus driver / musician / comedian Steph :) From the minute we entered our fully booked bus, it was entertainment the whole way. Astrid was incredibly informative and had endless patience. Rodrigo looked after our Spanish guests in a very professional manner. Steph - well Steph is a brilliant bus driver, but boy, can he spin a tune on the keyboard - yes, there is a keyboard on the bus!! Who would have thought. Our tour was interactive, informative and interesting. We would happily do it again and would not hesitate to recommend this tour to others.

Response from the operator: Dear guest, Thank you for the amazing review! We are so happy you had such a fabulous day and enjoyed the interactive and informative tour. Your kind words about Astrid and the rest of the team mean a lot to us. Thank you for recommending us, and we hope to see you again! Kind regards

    Beyond our expectations

Better than what we expected! The tour guides on the Piano Bus - Stef, Juan, and Ocean, made our experience so much fun! Very informative in multiple languages. The tour went by so fast. I am recommending this tour to everyone; we already did when we returned to our hotel. Thank you Piano Bus Guides!

Response from the operator: Dear guest, Thank you for the lovely review! We are so happy the tour went beyond your expectations and that Stef, Juan and Ocean made it so much fun. It is great to know you enjoyed the multilingual information and that the time flew by. Thank you for recommending us! Kind regards

Well organised with an activity in each location and enough free time to look around at your own pace. Timings were clearly communicated and the bus arrived back on time. A great day out.

A singing whistle-stop tour of places you’ll want to visit again

The put on your seatbelt announcement is sung.. As the engine hums at the same time the keyboard music starts our driver announces he is going to sing. I wince and open my beer I brought with me a bit too early on a 45 minute drive. 5 minutes in and my beer is warming along with my impression of the hosts. A short while later we see the windmills in the horizon and I’m charmed. No it’s not just the beautiful Dutch countryside, it’s our guides, Juan and Ocean and our singing bus driver Steph. Charming, funny and well informed. We were part of the ‘family’ as Juan called us but charming and engaging, not forced. I am someone who is a fan of tours, but not tour guides. I hate live entertainment, forced friendships and all too personal holiday guides and reps. This tour bus was not that at all. I now wonder if I’ll ever be able to enjoy a tour again without over sharing tour guides, without a constant narrative and running gags and god forbid, a singing, keyboard playing, over sharing bus driver. My only fault is now that I’ve tasted such riches, can I ever live with being poor. 5 stars and full compliments from a reluctant passenger and now a wilful participant.

Response from the operator: Dear Laura, Thank you for the lovely review. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the fun atmosphere and the musical touch at the start of the journey. It sounds like the tour gave you a great introduction to the Dutch countryside and places you’d like to visit again. We hope to welcome you back! Kind regards

From Amsterdam: Zaanse Schans, Volendam & Marken Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.

How much does From Amsterdam: Zaanse Schans, Volendam & Marken Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Amsterdam: Zaanse Schans, Volendam & Marken Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 5.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.

Is From Amsterdam: Zaanse Schans, Volendam & Marken Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 4,662 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Amsterdam: Zaanse Schans, Volendam & Marken Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Amsterdam: Zaanse Schans, Volendam & Marken Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Amsterdam: Zaanse Schans, Volendam & Marken Tour?

    +

Around 1,632 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 5.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Amsterdam: Zaanse Schans, Volendam & Marken Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amsterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
