What you'll see and do

  1. Museo Frida Kahlo

Step behind the cobalt walls of Casa Azul — the home where Frida Kahlo lived, loved, and painted her rawest masterpieces. Skip the 90-minute weekend queue with your mobile ticket and walk straight through the dedicated online-ticket lane. Explore at your own pace. Stand in her untouched studio, where her brushes and easel still wait. See the bed she painted from, ceiling mirror watching every stroke. Marvel at her embroidered wardrobe, her personal wheelchair, and the breathtaking pre-Hispanic art she gathered with Diego Rivera. Wander the lush courtyard garden, the sun-yellow kitchen, and the rotating exhibitions. 1 to 1.5 hours of pure immersion. Signage in Spanish and English. Closed Mondays.

  2. Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli

Your Casa Azul ticket grants free entry to Anahuacalli — Diego Rivera's monumental pyramid of black volcanic stone, 5 km south in Coyoacán. No extra booking, no extra fee, same-day access. Rise through three floors of shadowy, Aztec-inspired halls lined with more than 45,000 figurines, masks and sculptures Diego collected across a lifetime. Marble mosaic ceilings glow overhead, volcanic walls turn rough under your fingertips. On the top terrace, panoramic views open over the Pedregal — the solidified lava landscape that inspired both Rivera's vision and Mexico's modernist movement. Fewer crowds than Casa Azul, deeper silence, and the cultural counterpoint that completes Frida's story. Allow 45 minutes to 1 hour. Closed Mondays.

It’s a standard timed entry process, so you line up with the time slot designated on your tickets! The tickets are perfectly valid with the rest of the museum tickets.

Serene and informational

The historical atmosphere of this museum is phenomenal. So much to look at so much to take in. I feel like I’ve got to know Frida in a different way than I knew her before. It was imaginative to think where she might have been sitting and doing her art in this beautiful location. If I had one suggestion, it is about accessibility. It’s very difficult to maneuver the uneven sidewalks and pathways if you have walking issues.

False advertising

The museum itself is good. The trouble is that this is NOT a skip-the-line ticket. When you arrive, you will join the queue just like everyone else. This is because the museum officials do not recognize the skip-the-line feature of these tickets which are sold by third parties. I recommend the museum, but you should not a pay a premium to “skip the line”. Bring comfortable shoes for the wait, instead.

Frida Kahlo Museum Casa Azul Timed Entry Ticket: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.

How much does Frida Kahlo Museum Casa Azul Timed Entry Ticket cost?

+

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Frida Kahlo Museum Casa Azul Timed Entry Ticket take?

+

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.

Is Frida Kahlo Museum Casa Azul Timed Entry Ticket worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Frida Kahlo Museum Casa Azul Timed Entry Ticket?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Frida Kahlo Museum Casa Azul Timed Entry Ticket suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Frida Kahlo Museum Casa Azul Timed Entry Ticket?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Frida Kahlo Museum Casa Azul Timed Entry Ticket start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mexico City?

+

On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mexico City?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mexico City?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
