    Great tour

What a great and informative tour of Texas Hill Country and wineries along the way to Fredericksburg. Was the wine the highest quality I’ve had? No. But it was fun to explore while I was in San Antonio for work, and the tour operator was very passionate and gave us lots of good info. Recommended!

Cottonwood Wine Tours of San Antonio was a terrific experience! Our tour guide Diana used our hourlong travel time to good use by giving us tips and tricks to maximize our enjoyment and education as new wine connoisseurs. We discovered several wines we loved and left with a pride in Texas-made wines. Highly recommend Cottonwood Wine Tours!

Rated nationally among the top 10 wine tour companies—and now I know why!

Rated nationally among the top 10 wine tour companies—and now I know why! We took the Aficionado Wine Tour yesterday, and it was absolutely fantastic. Diana picked us up right on time from our hotel, and the experience started the moment we got in the van. During the drive out toward Fredericksburg (about an hour from San Antonio), Diana shared proper tasting techniques—from how to hold the glass based on the wine type to the importance of letting wines breathe. This was truly one of the most enjoyable tours I’ve ever taken. The combination of knowledgeable guidance, excellent wines, and engaging historical and cultural insights made for an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss this one!

    Must-Do Experience!

We booked the Hill Country Aficionado tour with Cottonwood Wine Tours and it was phenomenal! The three winery stops were the perfect amount. we had plenty of time to enjoy each location without feeling rushed. Diane, our tour guide, was fantastic. She knew so much about the area and the wineries, and even gave us great lunch recommendations during our two-hour Fredericksburg stop (which turned out to be spot on!). You can truly tell that this family loves what they do. their passion and care come through in every detail. The wineries they partner with clearly respect and value them, which made the whole experience feel even more special. If you’re looking for a relaxed, well-curated Hill Country wine experience, this is it!

How much does Fredericksburg Hill Country Aficionado Wine Tour from San Antonio cost?

    +

Prices start at $229 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Antonio usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Fredericksburg Hill Country Aficionado Wine Tour from San Antonio take?

    +

Plan for about 8.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Antonio is not rushed.

Is Fredericksburg Hill Country Aficionado Wine Tour from San Antonio worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in San Antonio, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Fredericksburg Hill Country Aficionado Wine Tour from San Antonio?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Fredericksburg Hill Country Aficionado Wine Tour from San Antonio suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Fredericksburg Hill Country Aficionado Wine Tour from San Antonio?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Antonio can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Antonio and add a light layer if any part of the 8.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in San Antonio?

    +

San Antonio runs River Walk cruises and dinner tours, Alamo and mission trail history walks, ghost tours through the old quarter, and Hill Country wine and cave trips. Mission tours vary in whether they cover all five UNESCO sites. On Outty we rank every San Antonio experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Escape Game San Antonio: Epic 60-Minute Adventures at The Rim, Walking Tour Along the San Antonio Riverwalk And Around Downtown, Small-Group World Heritage San Antonio Missions Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Antonio?

    +

March to May and October to November. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Antonio?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
