Do not booked! Shady business practices.

We booked the night prior, we were contacted in the morning that it was too short notice which I understand. We got a WhatsApp message explaining the situation. After asking if we could rebook for later in the day. They waited over an hour to reply we could try the next day but we had already made plans for another food tour. A minor inconvenience but no harm no foul. The problem I have is they told Viator / trip advisor that they did the tour and that I didn’t show up. They also deleted all of their WhatsApp messages to me when I told them I was cancelling because it was outside the window for a refund. To me that’s absolutely disgraceful. I don’t think these types of practices and businesses should be rewarded with any of your business especially with how many other food tours are available. Feel free to see the WhatsApp convo time stamped where they reached out. We ended up booking the Nice Sunset food tour the same day by Do Eat Better and I’ll be sure to leave a review if you’re interested.

Response from the operator: Viator's cancellation policy is not up to us. You'll have to weigh the facts before jumping to conclusions. Everyone who takes our tours is delighted; others have issues with the booking system. We'll even pass on 30% of the revenue to them so we don't have to deal with these kinds of problems.

    Don’t waste your money

The worst food tour I have ever experienced. I am an avid traveler and love food tours in new cities. I love trying new food and learning more about the city. I am used to tours with a distinct itinerary with specific food and drinks. We just stopped at 2 places with random food. No wine. I felt like we just walked for 2 hours. It was supposed to be 3 hour tour but I was so bored I was glad it ended early. I have never left a bad review, but it is not worth $77.

Response from the operator: Thank you for writing to us. It’s surprising to receive this review. The manager of the Florian confectionery said that you were very happy and that you made some purchases there. The guide said you didn’t want to wrap things up and skipped some of the planned stops, including certain tastings: rhums, truffles, ice cream and more. You still tried the Nice specialties: socca, tapenade, pan bagnat, Barbajuan pichada, and pissaladières. After of corse chocolat, candys , Flower, fruits and more sweets. So it's strange that you didn't like any of them. You also left a 20€ tip for the guide. The price is incorrect because Viator deducts 30% from your reservation. Thanks for the feedback. Have a nice day.

Lovely tour. Date/time is not fixed. Poor communication.

The tour itself was lovely, including stops at many restaurants and shops. Our tour guide Alex was friendly and knowledgeable. I’d suggest being aware that the scheduling and management of the tour itself is a bit unprofessional and somewhat rude in their communications. Just know that the day and time may change. They moved our tour day and time without giving any explanation, until I asked multiple times. I understand that there may be staffing or weather changes, but the messages were very abrupt and rude, expecting that we would have full flexibility to rearrange our schedules to meet their staffing challenges. If they would have simply stated the reason for the change and give any explanation from the start, it would have been received much better.

Response from the operator: We copy here the message you recive from us : « We’d like to explain our philosophy so you can understand where we’re coming from. We care equally about our customers, our producers, and our guides. You book through a platform to which we pay 30% of your purchase price: VIATOR Behind the scenes is a small local organization with independent, caring guides who work every day and have families and health to support. The assigned guide for today, working in the middle of a heat wave, won’t be able to lead two tours in a row on the same day. In order to protect her and To preserve this atmosphere, we count on our customers’ understanding and kindness. Here, we care about each other, celebrate birthdays, and are always ready to listen. We don’t just run tours for tourists—we create memories—and the guides aren’t just part of the experience. Alexane will be your guide tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. and will be waiting for you in front of Confiserie Florian at 14 Quai Papacino. Have fun and bring water, Hat and sunscreen »

Lovely guided historic and food tour of nice

we loved the "Food Tour Nice - Gourmet Ride with local flavours". Easy to meet up with guide and other participants. Visited several local stores including Florian store/factory with a guided tour. Walked through old town. Guide was very personable and informative. Tasted local specialties and included some drinks. Very enjoyable 3 hrs. Would recommend

    Food tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nice.

How much does Food tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $79 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Food tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nice is not rushed.

    Is Food tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 134 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Nice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Food tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Food tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Food tour?

    +

Around 47 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nice and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Food tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Nice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include ★ Walking Tour of Old Nice and Castle Hill, NO DIET CLUB - Unique Local Food in Nice !, Nice City Segway Sightseeing Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
