Palazzo Pitti, which has also been the residence of the King of Italy for a brief period in the late 18th century, houses important collections of paintings and sculpture, porcelains and a costumes, besides providing a magnificently decorated historical setting which extends to the Boboli Gardens, one of the earliest Italian gardens famous also for its fountains and grottoes. What you'll see and do

    1. Palazzo Pitti

Pitti Palace is located on the South side of Florence close to the Ponte Vecchio. The building was erected mid 1500's during the Renaissance age and has been in many hands since the Medici Family lost power of Italy. A notable name that took control of the Palace was Napoleon, who used it as a power base during the 18th century. When Italy finally united as the county we know today, Palazzo Pitti was used as the main Royal Palace, so you can imagine how much history and historic movements are within these walls, not just the artwork and masterpieces that are on display within its impressive 32,000 square metres of galleries.

    2. Giardino di Boboli

Established by the Medici family in Florence, right behind the court at Pitti Palace, the layout of the gardens created the Italian garden style that would become a model for many European courts. The green area is indeed a real outdoor museum, dotted by ancient and Renaissance statues, grottos and large fountains.

    Great tour, perfect guide!

The palace and gardens were amazing, but the standout was our guide. Elizabetta was a perfect guide, who both had incredible knowledge of the palace, it’s history, and it’s art, and tailored the tour well to our interests.

Response from the operator: It is special to know that Elisabetta was the part of the day that stood out most. Thank you for choosing CityEyes and for recognizing the care she put into making the experience personal. Grazie! Elisabetta, and the CityEyes Team

A compact but full tour of highlights

Elisabetta was awesome! So full of enthusiasm and knowledge, I don't think she stopped entertaining us for a single second during the very full three-hour tour. You could spend weeks in the palace and gardens and still not see it all, so having a guide to winnow out the highlights was well worth the price. You could tell she loves what she does. And her bubbly personality made the three hours fly by - but without us feeling as though we had missed anything important. Taking a private tour makes all the difference. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Ciao Daniel, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that our lovely guide, Elisabetta made your tour such a memorable experience. Her enthusiasm and expertise truly shine, and it’s fantastic that you enjoyed the highlights of the palace and gardens without feeling rushed. We couldn’t agree more that a private tour makes all the difference! We hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future! Arrivederci! Francesca Eyes of Rome Team

How much does Florence: Palazzo Pitti & Boboli Gardens Private Guided Tour cost?

    +

Is Florence: Palazzo Pitti & Boboli Gardens Private Guided Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Florence: Palazzo Pitti & Boboli Gardens Private Guided Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

What are the best things to do in Florence?

    +

On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Florence?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Florence?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
