  2. Fattoria L'arco

On a hilltop In the rolling Tuscan countryside near the historic village of Vinci (birthplace of Leonardo), sits Fattoria l'Arco, a unique boutique winery. Varietals grown on the estate include Merlot, Cabernet, and Sangiovese, in addition to some esoteric grapes used to achieve distinctive blends. The winery also produces Prosecco, a dry sparkling wine, which is rare in Tuscany, as well as its own extra-virgin olive oil. The abundant lunch is comprised of antipasto (toasted Tuscan bread with seasonal toppings, cured local meats and cheeses), a pasta or rice dish made with seasonal ingredients, and dessert (typically biscotti and Vin Santo, a dry dessert wine). The wine pairings include three wines (usually one white and two reds) plus Vin Santo. Weather permitting, lunch is served outside under a gazebo.
