    About this experience

Get ready installing our mobile app for our audio guide. The Accademia Gallery is the ideal place in the city to discover not only the most famous work of art by Michelangelo, the David, but also other masterpieces of this great Florentine artist: the four Prisons, San Matteo and Palestrina’s Pietà. This exceptional concentration of Michelangelo’s works has contributed significantly to the fame of the Accademia Gallery, making it the second most visited museum in Florence after the Uffizi. Given the relative narrowness of the museum’s spaces and the large turnout, long lines of tourists waiting to enter, outside, are the order of the day. Even if you manage to get an access ticket with a reservation is sometimes extremely difficult, that’s why we have activated the Fast-Track-Ticket service with Host for the Academy, in order to ensure an immediate entrance. At the chosen date and time, our host will be in Via Ricasoli 57, 50121 Firenze, next to the Carrefour Express Supermarket.

Download the audioguide before you leave home.

The audioguide never downloaded, so all we got for our money was a reserved ticket to the museum. The only way you can use the audioguide is by downloading it where you have fast internet access. We were on a ship without internet.

Response from the operator: Dear Brent, we’re truly sorry to hear about the inconvenience with the audioguide. Please note that, once downloaded, the app works perfectly offline, so it can be used even without an internet connection. Had you reached out to us, our team would have been glad to assist you right away, we’re always available to help our guests make the most of their experience. We sincerely hope you still enjoyed your visit to the museum and that we’ll have the pleasure of welcoming you again for an even smoother experience next time. Warm regards, ACCORD Team

The gentlemen that showed up did not have a yellow eat on but my wife saw it under his arm - once checked in he didn't have tickets as he then had to get confirmation we were there and then he left to get tickets and came back and handed them out .... we got in and enjoyed the museum for sure but the service not great

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, thank you very much for sharing your feedback. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the museum, even though the service did not fully meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that the ticket collection process works in this way to ensure flexibility in case of any last-minute adjustments, for example, if there are children in the group or if customers make a small mistake with their booking. By handling the tickets on-site, our staff can quickly resolve any issue and make sure that all confirmed reservations are properly managed. Since your booking was confirmed in advance, your tickets were of course ready and available. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again soon for another experience in Florence. Warm regards, ACCORD Team

    Academia self guided audio tour

To download the app ahead of time and bring headphones. Also if you download the app you don’t have to worry about Wi-Fi because you have access to the modules.

Response from the operator: Dear guest, thank you very much for sharing this helpful tip! We highly recommend downloading the app ahead of time and bringing headphones to get the best experience during the tour. Having the app ready before you arrive not only allows you to navigate the content easily but also means you won’t have to worry about finding Wi-Fi during the visit. All modules are accessible offline once the app is downloaded, which makes the whole experience smoother and more enjoyable. We truly appreciate you sharing this advice with future guests, as it helps everyone make the most of their visit. We hope to welcome you back soon for more wonderful experiences! Paid the premium to get into the museum last minute.

I purchased this tour the night before we went as it was the only way to get tickets to the museum. I had forgotten to book them before we left for our trip. The tour itself was fine. We didn't meet with anyone or anything like that. But the information was interesting. I'll admit, it was a bit confusing for some of the pieces in the gallery because the flow of the audio tour didn't match exactly or clearly to the flow in the gallery. But it wasn't so bad. For the most part it was good. The tour didn't go over the musical instruments or upstairs part. I didn't even know about the upstairs until I left when my spouse asked me if I had gone up. He didn't bother with the audio tour. I would say that for the money paid for the audio tour, it should have included these areas. Also note, we had to wait in line to get in, so it wasn't really skip the line. Just to be clear. BUT...it wasn't a 2 or 4 hour wait. If you don't have tickets, you would have to wait for hours. So, in that sense, it is certainly much faster. I think we waited about half an hour. I would say that considering this is an independent audio tour, it was a bit on the expensive side. I essentially paid $30 some odd dollars to download an app and listen to a recording. But we just wanted to get into the museum. If it was anything else, I would not have paid that much. BTW, i wish the final question on this review had a 'don't know' option. I will say yes to recommending this tour, only because it provided a way to get into the gallery last minute, even though I basically paid a premium for this last minute access.

Response from the operator: Dear Customer, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate hearing about your experience, as it helps us continue to improve. Regarding the wait time, for safety reasons all visitors - including skip-the-line ticket holders - must go through security checks before entering the museum. This is why there is still a bit of a wait, especially during the high season when the number of visitors is quite high. As you mentioned, though, the wait you experienced was significantly shorter compared to the hours-long lines faced by those without skip-the-line tickets. We are also grateful for your observations about the audio content. Thanks to our team of dedicated art historians, we are constantly working to enhance the quality and breadth of our multilingual audio apps. While we currently cover the most well-known and famous masterpieces, expanding the tour to include additional rooms and pieces - such as the musical instruments and upstairs galleries - remains a key goal for us. However, developing this richer content takes time to ensure it meets the high standards we set. Your suggestions are very valuable, and we will definitely take them into consideration as we continue to improve the experience for all our guests. Thank you again for your thoughtful review, and we hope to welcome you on another activity in the future that exceeds your expectations. Kindest regards, ACCORD Team

Florence Accademia Gallery Entry Ticket & Audio Guide App: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.

How much does Florence Accademia Gallery Entry Ticket & Audio Guide App cost?

    +

Prices start at $21 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Florence Accademia Gallery Entry Ticket & Audio Guide App take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.

Is Florence Accademia Gallery Entry Ticket & Audio Guide App worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Florence Accademia Gallery Entry Ticket & Audio Guide App?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Florence Accademia Gallery Entry Ticket & Audio Guide App suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Florence Accademia Gallery Entry Ticket & Audio Guide App?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Florence Accademia Gallery Entry Ticket & Audio Guide App start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Florence?

    +

On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Florence?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Florence?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
