A dream come true
The crew is excellent and they generated a lot of confidence in us from the first contact, there is a fishing instructor who has a lot of experience and the Captain of the boat is very careful and professional thanks to Juan Kamilo, our Guide in direction, with the best options throughout the tour. Thank you

The shark
The guys came to pick us up at Bora Bora for a day trip fishing and it was amazing. The boat was big and we got around the island and caught a shark!!!! Unforgettable

A non fishing trip
We didn’t get a change to fish the boat crew just threw a line out without bait and used boat to drive around slow. It’s definitely not what I expected. Horrible fishing experience

Best team ever!
This was our first time in Cartagena and we wanted to go on a fishing trip and explore the islands. Our Airbnb host recommended Boats4u so our group of four booked the full day fishing trip and island tour. The trip was excellent! The Boats4u team emailed us the itinerary, time and location to meet and greeted us with breakfast. They supplied waters, some beer and juice for the ride. The water was pretty choppy, but the captain navigated us through very well. Our interpreter was fantastic and very kind. We stopped at multiple islands where we were able to swim, buy drinks and have lunch. In Baru we had a very good lunch at the Aura Hotel and even took a nap :) It was a very adventurous trip and worth every penny!

Returned our phone to US for us!
We went on a cruise at the end of December 2017 and visited Cartegena, Columbia and went on the Boats4u deep fishing tour. My husband left his phone on the private island that we stopped at and was not able to get it back in time before our cruise left the island. Thank goodness one of the staff on the island found it and called the person at the dock who informed us that they had our phone when we came back as we never even knew we lost it! Carlos, the owner, was very kind to hold it for us until someone he knew could fly it over as due to export issues he could not send it to us. We got the phone back in September 2018. My husband imagined this excursion to be like the deep sea fishing reeling in a big fish (like a blue marlin) on the back of a fairly large boat. This is not like that and the photo of the fish they have on the web site (as of this current review) I assume shows the type of fish you may catch. The one fish we did catch was pretty tiny and the boat we used was more like a speedboat which was a bit rocky navigating the huge waves. Anyone who gets seasick easily will probably get seasick. I took Dramamine and I still did not feel well. One of our passengers threw up 8 times during the entire excursion. The waves can be quite rocky and large and I was a bit scared being out on the deep sea alone with no other boat in sight. The 2 staff on the boat did not speak English so the communication was very difficult. We did not get the opportunity to fish ourselves as the fish were not really biting that day and the waves were so rocky. The staff tried to troll some regular fishing phone lines and ultimately only reeled in 1 fish. We had enough of the large waves so they took us to a calmer area (like a lake) where we were able to jump out and use noodles to relax in the water. Then we went to a private island where you have the option to pay for food and drinks and to sit in their chairs. You also have to pay to use their "bathroom" which is basically some port o potties. The highlight of the tour was seeing dolphins riding the waves next to us. It was wonderful to watch several of them enjoying the waves and keeping up with the boat! BTW we did not get picked up from our cruise boat. I don't know if that was an option when my husband booked this tour but we had to take a taxi both ways which was definitely inconvenient so it is good they now offer to provide transportation. Thank you again to Carlos, his Aunt Beatriz, and his trustworthy and honest staff especially for getting our phone back to us safe and sound! Wendy

Why this scores 46
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Fishing Tour in Cartagena: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cartagena.
How much does Fishing Tour in Cartagena cost?
+
Prices start at $1056 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cartagena usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Fishing Tour in Cartagena take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cartagena is not rushed.
Is Fishing Tour in Cartagena worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cartagena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Fishing Tour in Cartagena?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Fishing Tour in Cartagena suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Fishing Tour in Cartagena?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cartagena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cartagena and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Fishing Tour in Cartagena start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cartagena within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cartagena?
+
On Outty we rank every Cartagena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Historic Center & Getsemaní Shared Tour in Cartagena, Cartagena VIP Boat Tour: Rosario Islands & Snorkel, Cartagena Antigua & Barrio Getsemani group with audio system. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cartagena?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cartagena?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
