Amazing tour with Elias!

We had an amazing tour with Elias as our guide in Chongqing. We went in a group of friends on the 6pm tour and were really impressed by Chongqing and how great Elias is. Elias brought us to the must-see spots in Chongqing and he was very competent as his explanations for each location were very interesting and he knew all the hidden alleyways to bring us to the most important destinations. I would recommend taking the tour at 6pm as Elias brings you to the other side of the river towards the end, where you can admire Chongqing’s lit up at night. Elias’s website is also very helpful as it contains important information for the rest of the stay, and Elias was also nice enough to give us an itinerary for other things to do on the rest of our stay. We 100% recommend, as Elias is a sweet, friendly and competent guy!

10/10 experience

We were two friends being into food and photography. Following exchanges with Elias to better describe what we were looking for, we decided to go for the private tour that included Elias’ insightful explanations about the city and a driver bringing us to the different places. Elias made a custom trip for us centered about food and good photography spots. He was also very keen on adapting the schedule short notice. He brought us to hidden spots only known by local people and provided a lot of interesting information. The car allows you to save so much time and energy (37C in August 2026). Last but not least, he’s a genuinely good person and we enjoyed spending the time with him. 10/10 experience and probably the best way to visit Chongqing in our opinion.

If you want to see and taste the city with local eyes this is the perfect tour for you. Elia supported us in the booking and planning steps, making everthing smooth and personalized. We had the chance to have Lanny as our guide, she is very nice, she speaks a perfect english - not so common here - she showed us hidden gems and more touristic things creating a perfect experience

Fun and personalised tour experience!

My friend and I travelled to Chongqing for a week and we couldn't have done it without Elias's guidance. He booked hotels, took us to local restaurants and toured us around all you need to see in Chongqing! We became friends by the end of it. Overall, a great experience and recommended.

First Time in Chongqing | History, Local Specialty & Highlights: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chongqing.

How much does First Time in Chongqing | History, Local Specialty & Highlights cost?

+

Prices start at $37 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chongqing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does First Time in Chongqing | History, Local Specialty & Highlights take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chongqing is not rushed.

Is First Time in Chongqing | History, Local Specialty & Highlights worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chongqing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule First Time in Chongqing | History, Local Specialty & Highlights?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is First Time in Chongqing | History, Local Specialty & Highlights suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 14. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book First Time in Chongqing | History, Local Specialty & Highlights?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chongqing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chongqing and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does First Time in Chongqing | History, Local Specialty & Highlights start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chongqing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chongqing?

+

On Outty we rank every Chongqing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chongqing Wulong National Park Private Tour, Premium Chongqing Private Tours: Highlights, Night View or Cruise, Chongqing 8D Mountain City Full Day Join In Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chongqing?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chongqing?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
