The highlight of our trip!
I was a little bit terrified to drive in downtown Palermo, but this tour ended up being the highlight of our trip! You must be proficient driving a manual transmission to drive this car. It shifts a little differently because it’s vintage, but you get a tutorial at the start. Took me a little bit to get a hang of it, but I felt much more comfortable driving it toward the second half of the tour, and would do it again in a heartbeat! It was amazing zipping up the mountainside to Monreale, and equally amazing driving through the narrow streets and markets of Palermo, where most other cars can’t go. Everywhere we went people were taking pictures of the cars- you’re a local celebrity for a few hours. You can tell Salvo what sites you want to see and he’ll customize the tour. We had the green car and we followed Salvo and Rose in the yellow car. Rose was our tour guide and, with a walkie talkie, she explained all the sites we drove past, and took us into Cathedral Monreale and Cathedral Palermo and gave great history. Salvo took some amazing photos and videos of us driving and shared them after. This was a really nice touch. I plan to frame some of them! A few tips: you have to wear closed toed shoes. I wore clunky wide sneakers and the pedals are so close together I wished I had more narrow shoes. However, I made it work. After you book on TripAdvisor, you reach out via WhatsApp to the tour guide, Salvo. Be prepared to supply lots of information (passport, photo of drivers license, a credit card for incidentals, and to sign a car rental agreement). You are renting a car for 3 hours, so it’s all the stuff you’d have to provide for an international car rental. All in all, we would love to do it again. It’s a one of a kind experience! Five stars.

Fantastic tour driving vintage Fiat 500s and a plane ride over the city!
We had the most amazing experience driving around Palermo in the vintage Fiat 500s. Salvo was a fantastic tour guide - picked us up, gave us a quick run down of how to drive the car, showed us all the sights, took lots of pictures and videos of us driving, surprised us with some classic Sicilian pastries when we stopped off at the Cathedral and provided us with water. After touring the city and driving up into the mountains we drove to the airfield where we were taken up in a small single engine plane to see Palermo from the skies - what better way to take in how beautiful this city it?! The pilot was fantastic and pointed out all the different sights. Honestly I could not recommend this tour enough, driving through the streets and alleyways was such a thrill. Salvo also offers pick-ups and drop-offs from the airport or to other cities around Sicily.
Response from the operator: thank you very much ❤️

Fiat 500 Vintage Palermo center - Monreale cathedral: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Palermo.
How much does Fiat 500 Vintage Palermo center - Monreale cathedral cost?
+
Prices start at $380 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Palermo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Fiat 500 Vintage Palermo center - Monreale cathedral take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Palermo is not rushed.
Is Fiat 500 Vintage Palermo center - Monreale cathedral worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Palermo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Fiat 500 Vintage Palermo center - Monreale cathedral?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Fiat 500 Vintage Palermo center - Monreale cathedral suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Fiat 500 Vintage Palermo center - Monreale cathedral?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Palermo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Palermo and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Fiat 500 Vintage Palermo center - Monreale cathedral start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Palermo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Palermo?
+
On Outty we rank every Palermo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Palermo Pizza & Gelato Cooking Class with Meal & Wine, Palermo Food Tour: 10+ Tastings of Arancini, Cannoli, Wine & More, Palermo Sicilian Street Food Tour: Small Group by Do Eat Better. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Palermo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Palermo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
