Fastboat to Gili not always Fastboat
Purpose of the trip: DAY TRIP from Bali to Gili. Many companies offer themselves as Fastboat, they are not. We booked with Gili Voyage from Padang Bai to Gili Trawangan. As with other providers, this was offered as a fastboat with a travel time of 1.5 hours. It took us almost 3.5 hours. A large boat for about 250 passengers (other than shown in the picture) Delay on the way out at departure of 45min, on arrival you first sail past Gili Trawangan and there is a transfer at sea between the islands for some passengers (it seems logical to change to this smaller boat due to docking in the port but that is not so, the big boat will dock later at Gili Trawangan...). On the way back you must check in at the office (near the port). Here you also have to pay the port tax. All over the internet there is 20 000 rupiah, they asked us for 25000, when I said 20000, they looked annoyed and said more strictly 25000. That extra 5000 rupiah won't cost me a turd but it's all about the principle. There is secretly a lot earned here..5000p.p on a trip of over 100 times at least 5 trips a day...and you can't turn to anyone because they keep your license in their hands until you have paid... kind of abuse of power. We deliberately chose to go back and forth on 1 day. In principle, that is doable, but expect delays.

Correct shuttle. Ship, very bad.
The shuttle from the Ubud hotel to the port was fine, as expected. It didn't have passenger seatbelts, but okay. Now, the ship was a horror. Broken seats, horrible heat inside. He moved exaggeratedly. Half of the passengers were dizzy and sick. They put the suitcases in the hold and all the clothes arrived wet... It was the worst means of transport I can remember, and I've taken several in my life and around the world. Greetings!

Wihana Virendra Fastboat, really good experience
Wihana Virendra Fastboat. We were so confused who to book our ferry to Gili Trawangan with after reading all the reviews and finally booked the Wihana Virendra. It was a good price, the driver picked us up on time and the boat left on time from Padangbai and arrived early in Gili T. The seats were very comfortable and the staff were well organised and pleasant. On the return we had the same experience and I would recommend this company if you are as confused as we were. We booked 24 hours in advance online and everything was excellent.

Nightmare Avoid!
Communication quite poor between the operator and myself very slow response and definitely didn’t understand what I asked as had to repeat constantly. Driver was rude he actually damaged my finger it bled. Vehicle not safe or road worthy no handle to hold on to climb up only at the front. Refund declined will not be using again. Stay away!

Avoid Ganggari fast boat
Avoid Ganggari fast boat. We were picked up in a mini-van with no suspension and the doors rattled so much we thought they were goung to burst open. It get worse, we boarded the boat at Padang Bai , it had a capacity of 100 passengers but there were more than 150 people on board. There were no more than 30 life jackets. And on our return a week later , the boat was 3 hours late and we were left boiling in the midday sun.
