Padang to Sengggigi Semenya one fast ferry
Early pickup from ubud meant we waited 2 hours at the harbour prior to departure. Semenya one had a well organised office where we got our boarding passes and luggage tags smoothly. The ferry was 30 mins late to leave but was fast and comfortable due to the air-conditioned, bottled water provided and inside luggage stowage. Boat was not so big so it would be quite bumpy if the waves were bigger.

Fast boat ferry from Padangbai to Gilli Air
Had a great experience. Highly recommend. Need to know the name of the boat to coordinate transportation and they did take a little bit of time to verify the tickets, but the rest was a smooth process. Wish they made it clear that boats would need to be changed along with luggage from the larger ferry to smaller boats when going to the smaller Gilli islands. But both were air conditioned.

Reliable, Comfy, and Easy Booking
I’d heard a few not-so-great stories about boat transfers in Bali, so I was a little worried at first. But Semaya One made the whole experience really easy and stress-free. I booked my ticket online a few days ahead and even got a small discount, which was a nice bonus! Padangbai was pretty hectic when it was time to board, with lots of people around, but the crew managed everything smoothly and professionally. I was lucky enough to get a window seat, and the views of Bali as we headed out were amazing. The boat itself was clean, and the seats were surprisingly comfortable for the roughly 1.5-hour trip. There were also screens playing at the front, although I spent most of the journey enjoying the view and doing some reading. Overall, everything felt safe, organized, and professional. We arrived in Lombok right on time, which was great. I’d definitely recommend Semaya One if you’re looking for a comfortable and reliable way to get from Bali to Lombok. 👍

The boat trip was dreadful
The journey was dreadful because the air conditioning on the boat wasn’t working and we had to travel in unbearable heat. Because there wasn’t enough space elsewhere on the boat.

1.5 Hours” Turned Into 4+ Hours — Misleading Information & Terrible Transfer
I strongly do not recommend Semaya One. This was the worst boat experience of our trip in Bali. When we bought the tickets, the agent assured us that this was a fast boat and that the trip to the Gili Islands would take around 1.5 hours. I will also attach a photo of the agent who sold us the tickets. In reality, it was completely different. The boat departed about 1.5 hours late, and instead of the promised 1.5-hour journey, it took around 3 hours just to reach Gili Trawangan. And the trip did not end there. At Gili Trawangan, everyone continuing to Gili Air was told to get off and transfer to another boat. This transfer and the additional journey took about 40 more minutes. The second boat was small, very old, rusty and visibly in poor condition. There were not enough seats for all passengers, and there was barely enough space for the luggage. Some passengers could not sit properly at all. This was nothing like the “fast boat” experience we were promised when buying the tickets. Nobody clearly informed us in advance that we would have to change boats at Gili Trawangan, that the journey would take significantly longer, or what kind of second boat would be used. In the end: departure was delayed by around 1.5 hours; the promised 1.5-hour trip became around 3 hours to Gili Trawangan; then there was an unexpected boat transfer; followed by another 40 minutes on an overcrowded, old boat; as a result, we lost almost an entire day. The biggest problem for me is not even the delay itself, but the fact that the information given at the time of sale was completely different from what actually happened. If you are buying tickets from Semaya One agents, I strongly recommend asking for the real travel time, all stops and transfers in writing before paying.
