Dolphin spotting
We had a great time for the 5 hours we were out. Visited 2 islands, sunbathed, had lunch and saw dolphins. The skipper, Carlos, doesn’t guarantee seeing them as they’re wild animals but we saw dozens as he and his colleague seem expert at tracking them down. He also speaks perfectly good English so we knew what was happening at all times. Well worth the money per person per hour.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!
WOW!!! This was the best boat trip we have ever been on. We accidentally booked this thinking it included dolphin watching too, but it didn’t. We accidentally bumped into the tour guide on the marina and was talking to them about the trips. After discussing with them, we decided to upgrade our experience to the dolphin watching and 2 island trip, which was the best decision of our holiday… We were slightly concerned for the first hour of trying to find dolphins, but soon after that, we came across some splashes in the ocean… We had found a group of about 100-150 dolphins!!! They were very inquisitive of our boat and we must have stayed for about 30-40mins watching the dolphins. We got loads of videos and the tour guides even sent us the underwater recordings of our trip too. The visits to the islands were also good, time for the kids to enjoy the beach and sea for a couple of hours. We ate at the second island which was quite pricey for what we got, but it was very nice. It’s probably better to take snacks with you and eat cheaper when you return back to Faro. On the way back from the islands, they took us round the marshlands and shared some knowledge of the marine life which was extra to what we paid for. Our youngest is 8 years old, and his words when we were walking back to the villa were “this was the best day ever, thank you for booking it for us!” Don’t be afraid to spend money on this, you won’t be disappointed. Overall review 11/10

This was our favourite trip on our recent visit to Faro. 2islands, dolphins, lunch ln a beautiful spot on one of the islands and the opportunity to swim too. Knowledgeable and friendly staff on our small boat. Really recommend!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Faro.
How much does Faro - Ria Formosa tour with visit to 2 islands (Deserta, Farol) 3.5 hours cost?
+
Prices start at $41 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Faro usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Faro - Ria Formosa tour with visit to 2 islands (Deserta, Farol) 3.5 hours take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Faro is not rushed.
Is Faro - Ria Formosa tour with visit to 2 islands (Deserta, Farol) 3.5 hours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 87 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Faro, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Faro - Ria Formosa tour with visit to 2 islands (Deserta, Farol) 3.5 hours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Faro - Ria Formosa tour with visit to 2 islands (Deserta, Farol) 3.5 hours suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Faro - Ria Formosa tour with visit to 2 islands (Deserta, Farol) 3.5 hours?
+
Around 30 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Faro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Faro and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Faro - Ria Formosa tour with visit to 2 islands (Deserta, Farol) 3.5 hours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Faro within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Faro?
+
On Outty we rank every Faro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sunset Tour | Ria Formosa - From Faro, Ria Formosa - Boat trip to the 3 Islands: Armona | Culatra Island | Lighthouse, From Faro: Benagil Cave, Marinha & Carvoeiro [Full-Day Tour]. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Faro?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Faro?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
