Amazing food tour, superb host
I had an amazing time with Alessandra. The food and wine were absolutely perfect and there was more than enough to go around. We were only a small group but we had plenty to chat about. Alessandra was very knowledgeable and so easy to get along with. I booked with GetYourGuide but apparently they take a huge cut so next time I will book with Viator.

Must do in Faro
Not quite 5 stara, more like 4.95...It was a great little, local food tour... she customized the tour for a small group and we had a lot of food, with a lot of wine....Alessandra is very knowledgeable about the local food in the area. He has great relationships in the area and she took us to a restaurant that my hotel recommended, saving me some time! She actually allowed for different food/wine options and asked our opinion.... Normally, that doesn't happen on food and wine tours...She is super personable and I wish her well with her new house!

Excellent food, guide, and experience!!
This was a 3-hour Tapas and wine tour in Faro. Walk was about 2km in total, visited 3 restaurants with literally BOTTLES of wine (not just a glass). Fabulous food at each location and more than enough to eat. We had 5 plus Marina and we couldn’t eat all the food they provided! Marina is a fabulous, fun, bubbly tour guide with a wealth of knowledge about Faro, Portugal, wine and food (amazing as she comes from South America!). Excellent hostess, fabulous food, amazing wines and fun. We forcibly ended our tour around 1130pm, having extended it an additional 2 hours! Absolutely recommend this tour and ask for Marina! 10-stars!

Faro fantastico. A tasty treat.
Fantastic. We don't usually do tours but so glad we booked this. It was just like a night out with your best friends. Our host Alessandra was amazing taking us to some great restaurants that you would probably never find. Now the important bit. Food and drink. A great selection of very tasty tapas in each restaurant paired with some really great Portuguese wines. We tried some local tapas dishes, both seafood and meat that were to die for. I wish i could remember the names. The last restaurant was in the old town and was 5 star. A huge selection of wine with the most expensive over €12,000. An amazing evening with more than enough food and drink. Thank you Alessandra for a great experience

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Faro City Portuguese Tapas: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Faro.
How much does Faro City Portuguese Tapas cost?
+
Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Faro usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Faro City Portuguese Tapas take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Faro is not rushed.
Is Faro City Portuguese Tapas worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Faro, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Faro City Portuguese Tapas?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Faro City Portuguese Tapas suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Faro City Portuguese Tapas?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Faro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Faro and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Faro City Portuguese Tapas start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Faro within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Faro?
+
On Outty we rank every Faro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ria Formosa - Boat trip to the 3 Islands: Armona | Culatra Island | Lighthouse, From Faro: Benagil Cave, Marinha & Carvoeiro [Full-Day Tour], Ria Formosa Natural Park and Islands Boat Cruise from Faro. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Faro?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Faro?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
