This full-day tour to the northern part of Cyprus takes you to three of the territory's most intriguing spots. You'll discover the ancient city of Salamis, the old town of Famagusta and the ‘ghost town' of Varosha. Your journey into the past starts all the way back in classical times at Salamis. You'll explore its ruined temples, the partially restored theatre and more. After free time for lunch, you'll visit Famagusta, whose old town is still protected by intact defensive walls built by the Venetians centuries ago. Your guide will show you sights such as the castle and the Gothic cathedral-turned-mosque. To round off the visit, there's a walking tour in the ‘ghost town' of Varosha. This once-popular beach resort lay abandoned for more than 50 years. It's a surreal experience to walk on overgrown streets of crumbling facades with rusted shutters and broken windows.

Zero Integrity! Unethical Company Changes Rules Post-Payment, Delays Bus & Blames Customers
I have booked thousands of day trips worldwide, and "Destination Services Cyprus" (a TUI company) is hands-down the most unprofessional and unethical operator I have ever encountered. If you value your money and your holiday, avoid them at all costs. We booked a tour in March through Viator and finalized payment on June 1. Our official issued ticket voucher contained absolutely ZERO passport requirements under "Know Before You Go." On top of that, their communication was non-existent. They NEVER proactively contacted us with the pickup time or location; I had to chase their customer service myself, only to find the pickup time they gave me was completely different from the one printed on my original ticket. To make matters worse, the bus arrived 20 minutes LATE on the day of travel. When we were eventually banned from entering the bus due to the passport clause missing from our ticket, the tour guide showed absolutely zero apology. Instead, the guide was incredibly arrogant, dismissive, and treated us with pure disrespect while leaving my family stranded. The company later engaged in deceptive blame-games—lying to the platform, rejecting our refund on the backend, and blaming us for not reporting our nationalities when their own issued ticket never required it. Viator corporate service eventually had to step in and force a full refund on my behalf after reviewing my clear, time-stamped ticket evidence. This company has zero commercial ethics and zero respect for travelers. Do yourself a huge favor: book your tours in Cyprus with ANY OTHER reliable local operator, but absolutely NOT this one. BEWARE OF THIS DISHONEST BUSINESS!

Is Famagusta City Tour with Visits to Salamis and Varosha Ghost Town worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (1/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Paphos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Famagusta City Tour with Visits to Salamis and Varosha Ghost Town?
+

Is Famagusta City Tour with Visits to Salamis and Varosha Ghost Town suitable for kids and families?
+

How far in advance should I book Famagusta City Tour with Visits to Salamis and Varosha Ghost Town?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paphos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paphos and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Famagusta City Tour with Visits to Salamis and Varosha Ghost Town start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paphos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Paphos?
+
On Outty we rank every Paphos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Blue Lagoon Cruise with Sightseeing from Latchi Harbour, Troodos Mountains Villages: All Inclusive Food & Wine Day Tour, Wave Dancer Half Day BBQ Cruise - All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Paphos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Paphos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
