booked 3 private tours and each one was better than the one before

Found Local Aromas on tik tok and fell in love with the sisters. Booked the 30 min consultation - was super helpful. Booked 3 tour with them! And each one was great. 1st did olive oil tasting and private home cooked dinner. Got to explore at different party of Rome. Benny was so warm and welcoming. Learned so much about olive oils and are forever changed. Never buy in plastic. Worth spending the money on good oil. Plus learning the different spice levels. Was very impressed. Clara cooked a simple but perfectly delicious meal. Getting to sit in someone’s dinning room felt so warm and amazing. Felt like was at friends apt for dinner. This was the best part of our two weeks in Italy. 2nd did food tour with focus around the Jewish ghetto. Guide was warm and friendly. She knew so much and really provided a deep understanding of the history and melding of food with the times. Was great way to have private tour as it really was perfectly customized. More than enough food. Did it mid late afternoon. Instead of dinner we went back to a few of the shops our guid showed us and ended up having a picnic in bed after a long day walking Rome. 3rd was the aperitivo tour. Great way to experience the chill and fun daily activity. Was wonderful have a guide that was easy to talk to and understand local culture. Perfect evening to explore the local spots and feel like was out with a girlfriend. The mix of different pairings was nice to really understand what spirits and small bites like best. Can’t recommend this company more. Worth every penny.

Response from the operator: Dear Danny! Thank you so much for this amazing and heartfelt review! We're so happy you found us through TikTok and felt a connection with the sisters! That's exactly what we hope for when sharing our love for Italy online! It means the world that you joined us for not one, but 3 experiences and that each one brought something unique and special to your trip. Benny and Carla will be thrilled to hear that the olive oil tasting and home-cooked dinner were a highlight of your two weeks in Italy (and yes — never plastic bottles again! 😉). We're also so very very happy that the food tour through the Jewish Ghetto gave you a deeper understanding of the history and culture — and we love the idea of a post-tour picnic in bed from your favorite stops! That is such a cool thing! And your aperitivo evening sounds like it hit all the right notes — relaxed, fun, and filled with real local flavor. Thank you for trusting us with your time in Rome and for your kind words. We truly hope to see you again soon for more memories, laughter, and amazing food and wine. 💛🇮🇹🍷

Amazing olive oil tasting!

Wonderful experience! I truly enjoyed this class and learned a lot about the oils themselves and the way to properly taste them. Benedetta and Valeria were so warm and welcoming. It was really a fun morning. The location is gorgeous too - don’t forget your camera for the beautiful view!

Response from the operator: Dear Liv123789, Grazie! It was a pleasure to share my passion for Olive Oli with you. I am obsessed…. I know, but once you learn about it, you will never look at olive again the same way that you did before, and I am sure you will become as obsessed about the quality of what you put on your plate!! It was great meeting you and I look forward to having you back with us super soon! A presto, Benedetta

Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting in Rome: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting in Rome cost?

+

Prices start at $110 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting in Rome take?

+

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting in Rome worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting in Rome?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting in Rome suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting in Rome?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting in Rome start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

+

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

+

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
