    HORRIBLE; DO NOT BOOK

I booked the "Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill + Guided Tour" via Tiqets, which sells tickets via Gladiator Tours. According to the booking, the start time is 9.45 and we were supposed to be there 20 minutes before the start. We were there at 9.25 but our guide was not there and we had to wait for him until 10.20. We were given money to buy our own tickets even though we had already paid for these tickets for our entry(and also to not stand in line). We hung out with the guide and queued in different queues for over an hour. Finally he led us to a queue and there it turned out that the tickets were sold out. We together with our tour group went back to the office where we started. We demanded our money back or a confirmation from them that they had not been able to deliver what we paid for! The owner then became aggressive and shouted, swore and abused by pushing two of us in the group hard. I got a hard push in the face and pushes in the chest. It has been filmed also. We are very disappointed as we travelled from Sweden to fulfill our dream of visiting the Colosseum and their aggressive behavior really caused a terrifying experience. It is not okay to be assaulted. We want our money back because they did not deliver what we paid dearly for. I have never experienced anything like this before in my life and it really destroyed our day. I filmed some of the situation in the office but everything. This occured in 4th april and still 26th april i have not received money back. I WARN FOR THIS COMPANY and experience and DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Response from the operator: Buongiorno ci dispiace molto per questa recensione perchè non è proprio corretta questa ricostruzione dei fatti o per meglio dire è vero che abbiamo avuto problemi per la biglietteria ma abbiamo trovato un'alternativa per non farvi perdere il tour ,infatti abbiamo spiegato ad ognuno di voi la situazione tanto è vero che (come si vede dal video )vi abbiamo dato una busta con il contante per la biglietteria e messo a vostra disposizione la guida che vi avrebbe seguito per tutto il tempo(che oltretutto abbiamo pagato in anticipo)e voi avete accettato ,poi siete tornati da noi con fare aggressivo dicendo che non volevate fare nessuna fila ma nel nostro prodotto non può esserci scritto "skip the line " perchè non si può garantire ,le file a Roma sono sempre lunghissime anche per la sicurezza .in quanto all'aggressione verbale da voi subita non era dal titolare ma da un dipendete che sicuramente ha esagerato nei modi ma voi siete tornati con fare molto aggressivo tanto è vero che abbiamo chiamato le forze dell'ordine ,in conclusione ci dispiace per tutto quello che è successo ma ripeto voi sapevate tutto non è stata una sorpresa come si vede dal video che avete preso i soldi per i biglietti .

    Messed up schedule

Our guide was great but there was a total mess up on our schedule. We booked a 9:45 tour time but got a message to show up at 10:15. We showed up at 9:15 and were told that 9:45 was just an estimated time and to come back at 10:15. Then we learned there was a”problem” either over booked or the tour guide cancelled. They did find us another tour but we had to wait until one.

    Disappointed

This tour was cancelled . The colosseum was closed due to a foreign dignitary visiting. Really disappointing although no fault of Viator.

Express Colosseum Guided Tour: 1 Hour Fast Track Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Express Colosseum Guided Tour: 1 Hour Fast Track Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $119 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Express Colosseum Guided Tour: 1 Hour Fast Track Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Express Colosseum Guided Tour: 1 Hour Fast Track Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 37 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 184 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Express Colosseum Guided Tour: 1 Hour Fast Track Experience?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Express Colosseum Guided Tour: 1 Hour Fast Track Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Express Colosseum Guided Tour: 1 Hour Fast Track Experience?

    +

Around 64 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Express Colosseum Guided Tour: 1 Hour Fast Track Experience start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

    +

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pizza & Gelato Class with Wine by Cooking Italy, Rome [4in1] Pasta Making_Tiramisù_Wine Tasting_Secret Cellar, Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

    +

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
