    Explore Yoichi & Shakotan Blue

We were only the 2 of us (due to Covid limited trip bokings) so we felt really personal and intimate. Beautiful scenery around Yoichi & Shakotan Blue enhanced by the explanations of the guide. The guide (Yama-san) has a very good English understanding so the communication was easy. It was very nice from him of taking pictures of us on the different locations. Being an all day tour, we had plenty of time at each stop to enjoy all there was to see and do (the guide adapted very well to our more "adventurer" personal expectations). Overall, a really nice and memorable experience. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you again :) Yama san also had a fantastic day with you both. Hope to see you again.

    Amazing Tour

We were very pleased with the tour and especially our guide Sam. He was pasionate about the area. Nature, food & whisky all in one!

Response from the operator: Thanks so much Dale! We were so glad to share Shakotan area with you and I’m so happy to hear your positive feedback. Hope to see you again in Hokkaido :)

Amazing Place, Even More Amazing Guides

My girlfriend and I visited Shakotan in Summer when the waters were blue and crystal clear. The place was beautiful and there weren't too many tourists. If you decide to go down to the rocky coastline and do a bit of searching, you may find some cute critters like different species of starfish and urchins. The whiskey distillery was interesting too, though we weren't the drinking type. Probably the best part of our trip was our fantastic guides, Sam and Ruby (I think this is how her name is spelt). I usually don't like guided tours because I like to experience the place without listening to a stranger, but Sam and Ruby were such great people to chat with. They are the main reason why I would recommend this tour over other Shakotan tours.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind feedback. I know Sam and Ruby had the best time with you too. We hope to see you in Hokkaido again one day :)

Explore Yoichi & Shakotan Blue: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sapporo.

How much does Explore Yoichi & Shakotan Blue cost?

    +

Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sapporo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sapporo is not rushed.

Is Explore Yoichi & Shakotan Blue worth it?

    +

How far in advance should I book Explore Yoichi & Shakotan Blue?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sapporo?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sapporo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
