    A great morning well spent

Communication with the tour company and guide during the day were great, comfortable transport, and time spent at locations were adequate and flexibile. The itinery stated at kitekite falls you could walk to the top or bottom, the top was not mentioned(not sure if it was possible?). The guide needed persistant affirmation to walk to the bottom with me but i couldnt go only halfway. Ample time to explore at the Black beach and a quick stop for lunch. A great morning well spent

Black Sand Beach Piha and Waterfall

Highly recommend this tour and our guide Babu! He was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable throughout the day. Hotel pickup and drop-off was a great convenience. We hiked through lush rainforest terrain, learning about the trees and birds along the way, before arriving at a breathtaking waterfall. Next was the stunning Black Sand Beach at Piha — a tranquil stretch of fine, glistening black sand. We finished at the Information Centre, where we sampled local honey, learned a bit about New Zealand culture, and enjoyed incredible views. An excellent experience from start to finish. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic 5-star review! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We’re delighted you enjoyed the rainforest hike, Piha Beach, and the local honey experience. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with Babu. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you again soon! 😊

    Such a great experience!...

Such a great experience! I know this is advertised as a group experience, but I actually was the only person booked on and the tour still went ahead. Super knowledgeable guide and I got some incredible photos- and we even did an extra stop on the tour as I did the hike more quickly than a full group would have done. Definitely great value for money!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your amazing review! We're so pleased you had such a memorable day with us. Although our tours are usually small-group experiences, we never want a guest to miss out just because they're the only booking. We're glad we could give you a more personalized experience, and it's wonderful to hear you enjoyed the flexibility, the extra stop, and came away with some incredible photos. Our guides love sharing the hidden gems and stories of New Zealand, so knowing their knowledge and enthusiasm made your day even more special means a lot to us. Thank you again for choosing ENZOY TOURS and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure the next time you're in New Zealand. Safe travels!

    Awesome tour with Babu!

Babu was a fantastic tour guide. From the moment he picked us up at our hotel until the moment he returned us he was knowledgeable, patient and most of all, fun. The hike to Kitekite Falls was beautiful and Babu gave us much information about the rainforest and what we were seeing in front of our eyes. I would highly recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review! We're thrilled Babu made your day so enjoyable. We'll share your compliments with him. We hope to welcome you back for another ENZOY adventure soon!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Auckland.

How much does Explore BLACK SAND PIHA BEACH, and Water Falls in West Auckland cost?

    +

Prices start at $117 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Auckland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Explore BLACK SAND PIHA BEACH, and Water Falls in West Auckland take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Auckland is not rushed.

Is Explore BLACK SAND PIHA BEACH, and Water Falls in West Auckland worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Auckland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Explore BLACK SAND PIHA BEACH, and Water Falls in West Auckland?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Explore BLACK SAND PIHA BEACH, and Water Falls in West Auckland suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Explore BLACK SAND PIHA BEACH, and Water Falls in West Auckland?

    +

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Auckland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Auckland and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Explore BLACK SAND PIHA BEACH, and Water Falls in West Auckland start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Auckland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Auckland?

    +

On Outty we rank every Auckland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Guided Day Trip from Auckland incl lunch, Hobbiton Movie Set Small Group Tour with Cheeky Kiwi Travel, Hobbiton & Waitomo Glowworm Caves Tour with Lunch from Auckland. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Auckland?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Auckland?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
