About this experience
In my opinion, tourists need a guide to explore the hidden places of a city and not the typical touristy spots. My tour is completely based on showing the non-touristy and off beat places in Mumbai. I start the tour with exploring the biggest flower market of Mumbai, and further we head to a 800 years old fishermen (original inhabitants of Mumbai) village in the middle of the city by commuting in a city bus to experience the bus ride which is used by 3 million commuters EVERYDAY! After that we go to a fortress (Built in 1675) at the end of the village. Post that we head out to explore the biggest open air laundromat (Dhobi Ghat) where around 100,000 pieces of clothes are hand-washed on daily basis. IG - bay_walks

Guide did not show up
The guide did not show up and so far nobody has contacted me. I requested a full refund, so let’s see what happens.
Response from the operator: Dear Andras, it was a difficult time for us as we were struggling for multiple months after pandemic as a team. I hope you would be able to understand that. I believe your complete refund was approved and deposited in your account. We hope that next time you are in Mumbai, we would be able to serve you and would not disappoint! Thank you

Interesting tour with a great guide
The tour was very interesting. We saw a lot of great things. Arpan is a great guide. He knows a lot of informations of Mumbai. I can really recommend this tour!

The best tour guide and an incredible experience
Simply amazing. It was our last tour of our trip but easily our favorite one! I wish he could’ve done all our tours through India! And such a good price. He was our only tour guide who did not push us to purchase things or leave a review. He cared more about us truly having a good experience and understanding of his country. He had a lot of knowledge of so many different aspects of not only the locations he showed us but also could answer a lot of questions we had about India in general as well. He was timely, communicated easily and most importantly had a great mix of fun and truth on the tour. Highly recommend!

What an amazing tour with an amazing guide!
Usually I do not book any tours, but this tour was an exception an the best decision we made for our start in Mumbay. Everything worked perfect, the communication right from the time I booked until the rest of our stay in India was absolutely excellent! Arpan replyed every question fast and with a warm welcome. He gave us so much usefully advices during our stay. The tour itself was really interesting and we had a lot of fun because Arpan is such a funny, open-minded an sophisticated guy. To walk off the beaten path was so much better than just to visit all the touristic places. Especially Worli totaly got me. Every cent was worth to pay for the tour and we really recommend Arpan as guide and the Off Beat Tour!

Great experience
Arpan was great- he was very knowledgeable about the history of India and of the places he took us. He began by providing us with context for everywhere we were going to go that day, showing us on a map what the route would look like and why he chose the places he was taking us to. Each place he took us was very interesting and, as promised, slightly different than what you may find from a more generic tour. He was great at answering questions, and ended the tour with a discussion with the group about what it’s like to grow up in India.

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Experience the Off Beat and Alternative Tour of Mumbai!: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mumbai.
How much does Experience the Off Beat and Alternative Tour of Mumbai! cost?
+
Prices start at $3500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mumbai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Experience the Off Beat and Alternative Tour of Mumbai! take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mumbai is not rushed.
Is Experience the Off Beat and Alternative Tour of Mumbai! worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mumbai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Experience the Off Beat and Alternative Tour of Mumbai!?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Experience the Off Beat and Alternative Tour of Mumbai! suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Experience the Off Beat and Alternative Tour of Mumbai!?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mumbai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mumbai and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Experience the Off Beat and Alternative Tour of Mumbai! start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mumbai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mumbai?
+
On Outty we rank every Mumbai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour, Dharavi Slum Tour, Mumbai: Dharavi Slum & Dhobi Ghat Laundry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mumbai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mumbai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
