Remembering the dead in a magical place
A while back, I went on a tour to Tolantongo, and honestly, I was left wanting more. While going through my emails, I came across this experience I had last year again, haha. This time, I chose this Day of the Dead tour in a more off-the-beaten-path location. The most famous celebrations are in Mexico City, but in Ocotepec, the experience was truly beautiful and culturally enriching. I went with some friends and loved discovering unique spots to take amazing photos and learn more about Mexico’s local culture and traditions. It was a great experience, and I hope this year I can go to Oaxaca for this beautiful and unique Mexican holiday!

Sal was great
Sal was awesome! We love a small group tour and had a magical experience exploring the locations. We got to see several ofrendas and hear 1 personal story from a grieving woman in the graveyard which was very powerful and also spontaneous. We all purchased excellent street corn but did forget about the Pan de Muerto.

Although our tour guide...
Although our tour guide had a great personality, he was just a taxi driver whose gps didn't work. There is not much left to say. However, if you are going to book, be sure to do your research on what you would like to see and do in these towns ahead of time.
