This was truly a five-star experience! MUST try!
I’ve always been interested in traditional Japanese culture, but most things seemed too difficult or inaccessible to actually try. I was also looking for something different — something more meaningful than just wearing a kimono or doing the same activities that most tourists do. That’s when I discovered tamasudare. I later learned that even many Japanese people have never had the chance to try it, which makes this an incredibly rare and special cultural experience. What makes this experience so amazing is the flow: First, you learn about the history and cultural significance of tamasudare. Then you watch a stunning professional performance by Mika, who is truly talented and passionate.And finally — the best part — you get to do it yourself! The moment I moved the tamasudare to the rhythm and realized I was actually doing it with my own hands...Wow!! I was filled with pure joy and excitement‼ It was one of the most memorable and moving moments of my entire trip to Japan. Tamasudare isn’t just beautiful to watch — it carries the warm spirit of the Japanese people, who wish happiness for others through this performance. Mika's English is very clear, and her explanations are easy to follow, even for beginners. This is an absolute must-do, not only for repeat visitors who are tired of the typical tourist spots,but also for anyone who wants to experience the real heart of Japan — full of kindness, joy, and deep cultural meaning. Wonderful experience!!
Mika was such a great host, and I had so much fun in her class! She explained what "Tamasudare" is and showed us lots of different poses. Then she picked two simple ones that beginners like me could try. After practicing, we got to choose from some really beautiful Kimono costumes, and Mika even filmed us doing the poses we learned. At first, I couldn’t get it right, but thanks to her kind and patient teaching, I finally did it! I also had a great time bonding with the other guests as well! Now that I can do the “Happiness Tamasudare,” I can’t wait to show it to my friends. It was such a unique and fun experience—I totally recommend it! Thanks so much for the wonderful time, Mika!
